Silvertones will be holding a dance on Feb. 22.
The Silvertones will hold a dance at the Senior Center this Friday, February 22th from 7-10 PM. Tickets are available at the door at $10 per person. Refreshments are served mid evening. Public welcome. Congratulations are extended to those special couples honored at the recent Friends & COA Valentine Dance. Carnation Belles to hold 9th Anniversary party Jan. 24.
The Red Hat Craft Activity which was canceled last week due to inclement weather has been rescheduled for this Thursday, January 24th at 2:00 PM. Also, tickets are now available for the Red Hat 9th Anniversary Dinner that will be held on Wednesday, February 20th. The cost is $30 per Belle and includes a family style dinner with the main course being Sirloin and Chicken Francese. Entertainment will follow the meal. The last day to purchase a ticket will be Thursday, February 14th. As previously noted several meetings have been scheduled for this Friday, January 25th. Preparations being made for annual Valentine's Dance.
The Silvertones will hold its first dance of the New Year this Friday, January 18th from 7:00 to 10:00 PM. Tickets are available at the door at $10 per person. The public is welcomed. The Senior Center will be closed next Monday, January 21st, in recognition of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. A happy and safe holiday is wished to all. Next Tuesday, January 22nd, Elder Services of the Merrimack Valley will conduct Free Memory Screenings from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. This event is free and the results of the screenings are immediately shared with you. The 15 minute screenings are conducted by ESMV. Senior Center director warns against tax assistance scams targeting elderly.
A note of thanks is extended to all those people who helped with the festivities over the last two weeks. It was a very busy time and your assistance was very much appreciated. On Friday, December 21st, our very own “Swinging Seniors Chorus” will conduct a Christmas Concert at the Senior Center. The concert will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 PM and refreshments will be served after the concert. Why not come on down for some holiday cheer and join us as we sing along with the chorus and usher in the holiday weekend. Hope to see you there. Dr. Smith will conduct a Podiatry Clinic at the Senior Center on Saturday, December 22nd. This clinic is limited to 35 Tewksbury Senior Citizens. Registrations are now being taken. Senior Center to host numerous activities around the holidays.
A special note of thanks is extended to all those who helped with the weekend activities at the Senior Center. As always your help is appreciated and lends to the success of our events. It is hoped that everyone enjoyed the Christmas Dinner and the great Edwards Twins show on Sunday. Thanks again, everyone. The Mens Group will meet this Thursday, December 13th, at 9:00 AM. This is a young of heart and mind 60+ group. All “60+ men” are welcome. In the evening this Thursday, December 13th, the Red Hat Carnation Belles will hold their Christmas Dinner. Senior Center activities are cancelled on Nov. 6 for the election.
The Seniors shall hold a Breakfast Benefit and Harvest Fair this Sunday, Nov. 4. Breakfast will be served as usual from 7:30 to 11:00 AM. The Fair will be held from 7:30 AM and extend to 12:30 PM. Admission is free for the Fair. Prices for Breakfast will remain the same: Adults $6; Children 12 and under $3; and, toddlers free. The breakfast menu is: Pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, homefries, beans, toast and beverages. The Fair will be a downsized version but will feature some great crafts and gift items, a bake table and a white elephant table. The public is welcomed. Plenty of trips and activities going on for Tewksbury Seniors this month.
Those Senior Citizens who are MEMA Volunteers are reminded that there will be a MEMA annual training at the Senior Center this Friday, October 12th at 9:30 AM in the conference room. We ask that you please confirm, with Jan or Linda, that you will be in attendance. During Tewksbury's Drug Awareness Week, the week of October 14th, the Board of Health will host prescription drug abuse discussions for senior citizens at the Center's various events. The goal is to reach out and educate the senior population and help prevent additional problems from happening to their loved ones. The discussions will include safely disposing of unwanted and unused medications. These discussions are among the various programs being presented to residents of all …

Openings still available for the Friends of the Seniors Golf Tournament.
A new exercise program will begin this Friday, September 7th. The class will be called “Tune Up -Get Down” and will concentrate on upper body weights and moving to music with lots of fun. This introductory class will be free this first week. The class will be held every Friday mornings from 9:00 to 9:45 AM. The following trips and events are taking place in September: On Sunday, October 21st – The fantastic Edwards Twins Celebrity Impersonator Show back by popular demand. Tickets are now on sale at $55 per person and include a buffet luncheon. A pleasant week is wished to all. God Bless America.

Senior Center to host an August filled with activities and trips.
The Upscale Consignment shop will hold its “Intake of Items” Day next Monday, August 6th, from 3:00 to 7:00 PM. This will be the last intake day that summer clothing will be accepted. Next Tuesday, August 7th, the Tewksbury Police Department will hold its annual “Night Out Against Crime” event at the Senior Center, 175 Chandler Street. This event will be held from 6:00 to 9:00 PM with a movie showing at 7:15 PM. The event is for the whole family and is free. Why not stop by for this informative and fun evening. There will be information on crime prevention, community services, crafts for children and lots more. Several trips for seniors are planned for the coming weeks.
The Senior Center is now open Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Hot lunches will be served each weekday. Seniors are reminded that lunch reservations must be made two days in advance. A $2 donation is suggested. For more information on the hot lunch program one may call Shirley Lambert, Site Coordinator, at 978-851-5121. Menus are available at the Senior Center front desk and from the kitchen crew. Tickets for the Foxwood day trip of August 9th will go on sale next Monday, July16th at 8:15 AM. Departure time for next Monday, July 16th, Hyannis Harbor Cruise day trip is 8:00 AM.
