Traffic Stop Leads To Three Arrests On Multiple Drug Charges

The following information was supplied by the Tewksbury Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

What started out as a routine traffic stop near Applebee's ended with the arrest of two men and a woman on multiple drug and motor vehicle charges. A Tewksbury Police officer pulled over the suspect's vehicle, an SUV, just before 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 16, due to revoked insurance. The vehicle was driven by Leonardo F. Aponte Jr., 26, of 648 Boston Road, Billerica. A computer check of Aponte found that both his license and registration had also been revoked. He was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a license that had been revoked as a Habitual Traffic Offender, operating a motor vehicle with a revoked registration and driving an uninsured motor vehicle. What the guy should have done is hold the dollar bill and let her know he needs to cut through. Maybe even ask for permission in writing so she doesnt sue him for failure to bring change to a car wash.   more ›
