Tewksbury Woman Sentenced To Prison For 2011 Drunk Driving Accident

Accident seriously injured 83-year-old man.

A Tewksbury woman has been sentenced to prison for a drunk driving accident that seriously injured an 83-year-old man back in 2011. Mary Beth Chandler, of 437 Chandler St., was found guilty earlier this month of OUI-liquor (second offense), OUI-causing serious injury and failure to grant right of way by a jury in Lowell District Court, according to an article that appeared in the Lowell Sun. Last week, a judge sentenced Chandler to 15 months in prison, with 94 days credited for time served. Her license was revoked permanently and once she is released from jail, she will remain on probation through March 9, 2018. The victim in the crash, Edward Grant, was a passenger in the vehicle struck by Chandler. The accident took place at around 1:30 …

Alert Homeowner Helps Police Nab B&E Suspect

A Tewksbury homeowner spotted a man allegedly breaking into his vehicle and his sharp eyes and detailed description helped police quickly track down the suspect. According to a Tewksbury Police report, the Chandler Street resident called dispatch at 7:43 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19, to report that a man had just broken into both of his vehicles while they were parked in his driveway. The man described the suspect as white, around 25, wearing a gray sweatshirt. He said the man escaped in a late 80s or early 90s grey/silver Pontiac Grand Am heading toward Pine Street. Man Found Sleeping in Police Parking Lot, Arrested for DWI

The incident took place at approximately 1:45 a.m.

Windham, NH Police didn't have to go far to make an arrest early this morning after they found a man passed out in his driver's seat and parked in the restricted employee lot at the police station. Jonathan Sullivan, 31, of 140 Judith E Drive in Tewksbury, was arrested at 1:45 a.m. and charged with driving under the influence of intoxicating drugs or liquor. Officers responded to the restricted parking lot after a dispatcher located the vehicle on a security camera. The vehicle was running at the time of the arrest. Officers woke up Sullivan and conducted a thorough investigation which included field sobriety tests. Sullivan was released on $500 personal recognizance bail and given a court date of Jan. 28, 2013. Domestic Assault Arrests Top Latest Tewksbury Police Log

Tewksbury Police responded to multiple reports of assaults and domestic assaults this week. Gerard A Cardarelli, 41, 5109 Archstone Ave., Tewksbury, was arrested on Wednesday, Nov. 28, and charged with domestic assault and battery. Cardarelli was arraigned in Lowell District Court and held on $1,000 cash bail, according to an article appearing in the Lowell Sun. According to prosecutors, the complaint was filed by a 12-year-old girl who lives with Cardaelli and his girlfriend. The girl told police that Cardarelli and his girlfriend both hit her with coathangers and that Cardarelli slammed her head against a wall, according to the Sun article. Tewksbury Woman Reports Break-in, Assault

Tewksbury Police are hunting for a man who broke into a home on Chandler Street Friday evening, Nov. 9, and assaulted the homeowner. According to a Tewskbury Police report, the woman called police at 6:18 p.m. to report the break-in and assault. She described the man as being around 25 years old, wearing a black hoodie sweatshirt. She also said he had a bad complexion. Several officers responded to the scene. The victim was taken by ambulance to Lowell General Hospital Saints Campus to be treated for her injuries. Break-in on Quail Run A homeowner on Quail Run called police at around 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 8 to report a break-in. Tewksbury Man Charged With Home Invasion, Beating

A Tewksbury man is facing felony charges after allegedly breaking into a Court Street home Thursday morning and severely beating the man who lived there. Mark N. Donnay, 32, of 8 Michael St., is charged with assault and battery with severe bodily injury and breaking and entering in the daytime with the intent to commit a felony. Just before noon on Thursday, Sept. 6, Tewksbury Police received a 911 call from a Court Street resident. The male caller reported that a man had entered his house and assaulted him. Several officers and an ambulance were sent to the scene. The victim was transported to Saints Medical Center in Lowell for treatment of his injuries. Amesbury Woman Charged With Break-in, Jewelry Theft

A 26-year Amesbury woman is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly stealing more than $10,000 in jewelry from a home in Tewksbury. Leanne Maniscalco, of 34 Sparhawk Drive, was arrested Monday night, Aug. 13, in Amesbury and arraigned Tuesday in Lowell District Court. She is charged with breaking and entering in the daytime with the intent to commit a felony and larceny in excess of $10,000. Tewksbury Police believe Maniscalo let herself into the home of a family member by using a spare key and made off with the jewelry while the family member was away on vacation. Some of the items were later found at an area pawn shop and records indicated it was Maniscalo was the person that had pawned them. Maniscalo is also facing larceny …

Man Arrested On OUI Charge Previously Indicted On Vehicular Homicide Charge

Anthony J. Manfredi, who was indicted on Aug. 14, 2011 of the fatal pedestrian collision that resulted in the death of Burlington resident Daniel Jalbert was arrested for DUI while out on bail.

A Burlington man arrested last week in Tewksbury for allegedly driving a moped while under the influence of alcohol was previously indicted on charges in connection with the Aug. 14, 2011 fatal pedestrian collision that resulted in the death of Burlington resident Daniel Jalbert. Just after 5:31 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 2, an employee of the Pushcart restaurant in Tewksbury called police to report a patron had just left there and appeared to be drunk. The employee said the man drove away on a blue moped. Two Tewksbury Police units responded to the scene and pulled over the moped, driven by Anthony J. Attempted Murder Charge, Another Dog Attack Highlight Police Log

A Tewksbury teen is facing charges of attempted murder after a domestic disturbance at the Motel Caswell Wednesday night. According to a Tewksbury police report, a 911 call reported an argument in one of the motel rooms. Officers responded to the scene and after talking to the alleged victim and conducting an investigation, they arrested Jonathan Patrick Whitcomb, 18, 14 Pond View Lane, Tewksbury. Whitcomb is charged with attempted murder and assault and battery. No further details on the charger are available at this time.
