Police Forced To Use TASER On Assault Suspect

A woman suspected of assault resisted arrest in such an aggressive manner that Tewksbury Police officers were forced to use a TASER to subdue her. The call came in just after 9 p.m. on Dec. 18. A male caller reported that he had just been assaulted in an apartment on Main Street. Officers responded to the scene and after a brief investigation, attempted to arrest Janice M. Lombardi, 52, 1830 Main St., Apt. 18. According to the police report, Lombardi resisted arrest in such a manner that officers had to administer "2 applications dry stun, 1 taser." Girlfriend Allegedly Steals Mom's Jewelry, Smash-N-Grabs Plague Businesses

A Lowell woman was arrested Monday for allegedly trying to steal jewelry belonging to her boyfriend's mother. Kayleigh M. Frost, 26, of 215 Mammoth Road, #1, Lowell, is charged with larceny under $250 and possession of a Class E drug. According to Tewksbury Police records, the incident began Monday afternoon when dispatch received a call from a Bay State Avenue resident regarding a robbery. According to the caller, his girlfriend in the process of stealing his mother's jewelry and leaving the house. Two officers were dispatched to the address and placed Frost under arrest. Habitual Drunk Driver Indicted By Grand Jury For 6th Offense

Worcester man was arrested in Tewksbury in June.

A habitual drunk driver will be facing felony charges in Lowell Superior after being indicted by a Middlesex County grand jury for his 6th OUI offense. Steven Letellier, 38, of Worcester, was arrested by State Police on I-93 in Tewksbury. At the time, he was held without bail after a district court judge deemed him to be a danger to society. In addition to OUI-Liquor (3rd of subsequent offense), Lettelier is charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license (3rd or subsequent offense) and operating a motor vehicle after his license had been suspended for drunk driving, according to a press release from the office of District Attorney Gerry Leone. Lettelier's earliest OUI-liquor conviction came in 1995.

Teens Check Out Cars At Dealership; Shot Fired Inside WalMart

A group of teens likely weren't looking to get a good trade-in on their Jeep when they were spotted at Wally's Auto World late Sunday night (July 29). Just after 9 p.m., a 911 caller reported seeing a group of three or four juvenile males going in and out of cars at the auto dealership at 2195 Main St. Tewksbury Police contacted their Wilmington counterparts and asked for assistance. In the meantime, the caller told dispatch that they saw the group of teens flee the scene in a dark-colored Jeep Cherokee, heading in the direction of Wilmington. The Wilmington PD was updated. I disagree that it was an overstatement. Although you may interpret "fired" to mean that a firearm was used, it is all up to personal interpretation. To fire something is to discharge a weapon or gun, including a BB gun. In today's world, firing a gun does lead one to think of a firearm. However, it all depends on how you view it.   more ›

Two-Car Crash Leads To Drunk Driving Arrest

A Tewksbury man is facing drunk driving charges after allegedly causing a two-car accident on Shawsheen Street this week. Russell Winter, 78, of 70 Franklin St., was arrested after rescue crews and Tewksbury Police responded to the accident, which took place at 9:41 p.m. on Thursday, July 26. According to the police report, several 911 calls reported the accident, which took place near 1101 Shawsheen St. Damage to one of the vehicles was more severe than the other and had to be towed. Neither driver was seriously injured and did not require medical attention. A utility pole was also damaged in the crash and National Grid was notified. Driver was allegedly drunk at the time of the accident and then abandoned her vehicle.

UPDATED: Friday, 10:30 a.m. A Tewksbury woman is facing multiple charges after allegedly causing an accident in Wilmington Tuesday morning in Wilmington and then fleeing the accident scene. Wilmington Police allege Sara Brothers, 32, of 21 Hickory Lane, Tewksbury, was drunk behind the wheel when she struck another vehicle while driving on Salem Street at 1:11 a.m. Salem Street was closed temporarily following the accident and Tewksbury Police provided assistance with the follow up. Traffic Stop Leads To Arrest Of Billerica Teens

What started as a routine traffic stop early Monday morning turned into the arrests of three teenagers on a variety of charges. At around 12:45 a.m., a Tewksbury Police officer pulled over a vehicle driven by Steve G. Owens Jr. near the intersection of Foster Road and David Morris Street. A brief investigation led to the arrest of all three teens in the car. Owens, 17, of 12 Peace St., Billerica, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license (subsequent offense), speeding and being a junior operator driving between 12 and 5 a.m. without a parent in the car. Busy Night: Two Arrests For Alleged Drunk Driving Just Six Minutes Apart

Some nights for the Tewksbury Police Department can be unusually quiet. Others can be amazingly busy. The officers working the March 2-3 overnight shift found themselves with a rather busy evening, especially just after midnight. An 1:37 a.m. on Saturday, March 3, a 911 caller reported a car into a pole near 1866 Main St. The caller said he was unable to get to or communicate with the driver of the vehicle. When officers responded, they found the vehicle empty, but they located tracks heading down Livingston Street. Officers followed the tracks and found the driver on a small side path. The driver, Matthew J. Dizio, 32, of 23 North St., Wilmington, was charged with OUI-liquor (second offense), leaving the scene of a property damage …

Man Arrested For Threatening Woman With A Chainsaw

A Homestead Lane man faces multiple charges after allegedly threatening to slice a woman open with a chainsaw. Leonard J. Beaumier Jr., 49, 61 Homestead Lane, was arrested on Tuesday, Feb. 23. According to the Tewksbury Police report, a woman called 911 and said that a man had just threatened her with a chainsaw. Four police units responded to the scene and suspect was stopped in his vehicle after having left the scene. Beaumier was charged with two counts of assault and battery and one count of threatening to commit a crime. The alleged victim was not injured. Police Take Five Alleged Drunk Drivers Off The Roads

The alcohol was flowing and the handcuffs were clicking over Super Bowl weekend, as the Tewksbury Police Department took several alleged drunk drivers off the streets. Arrested were the following: Kevin Fortin, 52, 36 Harrison St., Lowell, was arrested on Sunday, Feb. 5, and was charged with OUI-liquor (third offense). A 47-year-old female was taken into protective custody. Timothy J. Doyle, 47, 197 Vale St., Tewksbury, was arrested on Sunday, Feb. 5, and was charged with OUI-liquor (second offense), negligent operation of a motor vehicle and having an open container of alcohol in his vehicle.
