Carol A. (Sullivan) Hazel, age 65, a well known resident of the community, died Sunday, May 12, at Mass General Hospital, following a brief illness. She was the beloved wife and high school sweetheart of retired Tewksbury Police Lt. George W. Hazel, with whom she had celebrated a 38th wedding anniversary on May 8th. Carol was born in Brighton, November 22, 1947, a daughter of the late William and Dorothy (Claflin) Sullivan, and was a lifelong resident of Tewksbury. She graduated from Tewksbury High School with the Class of 1965. Carol was a communicant of St. William’s Church. She worked as a secretary, beginning at Sullivan and Cogliano Publishing, Raytheon in Burlington, and MITRE in Bedford, before joining the Staff of the Tewksbury…

Eleanor M. (Matarazzo) Bissett, age 87, died Monday morning, May 13, at Heritage Manor Senior Care Center in Lowell after short period of declining health. She was wife for 53 years of the late John W. Bissett, who died in 2002. Eleanor was born in Boston, December 23, 1925, a daughter of the late Thomas and Lena (Natoli) Matarazzo, and raised in Jamaica Plain. In 1955, she and her late husband moved to Tewksbury to raise their family. She was employed in the Dietary Department of the Tewksbury Public School System where she worked for more that 20 years. She retired in 1983 as the manager of the Heath Brook School lunch program. Mrs. Bissett was a communicant of St. William’s Church. While she devoted her life to her family, she …

William J. Dooley, III, age 67, a resident of Tewksbury for 42 years, formerly of Melrose, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2013 in Stoneham. He was the beloved husband of 43 years to Roberta G. (Brennick) Dooley. Born in Melrose on January 21, 1946, he was the son of the late William J. Dooley, Jr. and the late Marie (Bissell) (Dooley) Liebke. Bill was raised in Melrose, attended St. Mary's Parochial School and graduated from Melrose High School in 1963. He later attended Williams College, where he graduated from its School of Banking. In 1964, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served his country during the Vietnam War. Paul E. Gilligan, age 70, of N. Andover, formerly of Tewksbury, died at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill on Monday, April 29, 2013. Husband of the late Carol J. (Strople). Father of Linda C. Riley of Wilmington and Jennifer L. Gilligan of Atlanta, GA. Grandfather of Caitlin and Sean Riley and Jefferson Twombley. Brother of Emily Colbert and her husband James of Tuscon, AZ and the late James Gilligan. Calling hours will be Friday, May 3, from 4-7 p.m. in the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Sandra E. (Perry) Sullivan, age 70, died unexpectedly while visiting her sister Joan in St. Cloud, Florida on Monday, April 8. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter F. Sullivan, who died in 2011. She was born in Boston on June 6, 1942, a daughter of the late, William H. and Doris (Farrell) Perry. She was raised in the Boston area living most of her life in Malden. She was an incredibly dedicated and nurturing Mother who spent her life caring for her family. Stacy (Kanakaris) Devincenzi, age 42, died Sunday, April 21, at Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, surrounded by her beloved family, following a courageous three year battle with cancer. She was born in Medford, May 17, 1970, a beloved daughter of Glenda (Wilson) Kanakaris now residing in Virginia Beach, VA and Stanley Kanakaris and his wife Carol of MA. She was raised in Tewksbury, and was a member of Tewksbury Memorial High School Class of 1988. She raised her family in Dracut, and returned to Tewksbury in 2011. Alfred W. Martin, age 93, formerly of Westford, Leominster and Tewksbury, died on Friday, April 5, 2013, at the Dodge Park Rest Home in Worcester. Born in Heath, MA, he was the son of the late Alfred H. & Jennie Marion (Rea) Martin. Alfred grew up in Newton, MA. He was trained and licensed as a Masters Electronic Technician and was self employed for many years. Alfred was the sole proprietor of Martin's TV & Appliance formerly in Tewksbury. H. Bailey Trull, Jr., age 80, a longtime Tewksbury resident, passed away at home on Thursday, April 11, 2013, with his family by his side. He was the devoted husband of Audrey (Bernard) Trull, with whom he celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on December 1, 2012. Born in Lowell on October 19, 1932, he was the son of the late Henry Bailey Trull, Sr. and the late Laura (Hollingworth) Trull. Bailey was raised in Lowell, attended Lowell schools and graduated from Essex Agricultural High School.
