Tewksbury will officially kick off the 2012 Holiday Season on Friday, Nov. 30 with the 25th Annual Lighting of the Common. The event coincides with the annual Festival of Trees at the Tewksbury Public Library and the annual Pie Social at the Tewksbury Congregational Church. The Town of Tewksbury will officially kick off the 2011 Christmas Season with a full schedule of community events this weekend. The highlight of the weekend is the annual Lighting of the Common, which will take place Friday, Dec. 2, starting at 7 p.m. This year's event will follow a slightly different schedule, as the lights on the common will be lit at the start of the festivities, right at 7 p.m. The event will feature the Swinging Seniors Chorus, who will perform "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree," "Deck The Halls," "Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer," "Here Comes Santa Claus" and "We Wish You a Merry Christmas."
