Reading Gets Revenge, Beats Tewksbury, 42-6

Tewksbury failed to upset Reading for the second consecutive year in the Division 2 Semifinal game.

In a rematch of last year’s Eastern Mass. Division 2 Semifinal, the Reading High Rockets got their revenge over Tewksbury with a 42-6 dismantling of the Redmen at Reading High last night. “We definitely had revenge on our mind this year and we were clicking on all cylinders,” said Reading quarterback Drew Belcher, whose incredible night led the Rockets to improve to 12-0 on the season. Belcher completed nine passes for 126 yards and a touchdown, and rushed nine times for 105 yards and four touchdowns. “We worked all offseason to come back and make it to this game,” said receiver Ryan Maney. “They pretty much beat our butt last year,” said the Gronk-like pass catcher who hauled in five catches for 87 yards and had a 61-yard rushing …

Redmen Are Super Bowl Bound! [video]

Tewksbury High football team storms into Reading and dominates the Rockets, 21-6.

Three short months ago, it would have been difficult to find anyone who thought the Tewksbury High football team was going anywhere this season. On Saturday, the Redmen are going to Gillette Stadium to play in the MIAA Division 2 Super Bowl against unbeaten Duxbury (12-0). Game time is 3:30 p.m. Led by stellar efforts from their three senior tri-captains -- quarterback Kevin Saunders, running back Chris Bettano and linebacker Derek Tarpey -- coach Brian Aylward's Tewksbury High Redmen once again played the role of giant killers Tuesday night, storming into Reading to steam-roll the heavily favored Rockets, 21-6 in an Eastern Mass Divison 2 playoff game. Running High On Adrenalin, Redmen Head To Reading For MIAA Playoff Game

Tewksbury High football team will face Middlesex League champion Reading High on the Rockets' home field Tuesday night at 7:30.

It's a new experience and a whole new feeling for the Tewksbury High Redmen. The TMHS football team will be playing in an MIAA post-season game for the first time in 15 years when the Redmen travel to Reading tomorrow night to face Reading High in a MIAA Division 2 Eastern Mass playoff game. The winner of the game will go on to represent Eastern Mass in the Division 2 Super Bowl Dec. 3 at Gillette Stadium. "It's a little bit different than what we're used to at this time of year," said Tewksbury High coach Brian Aylward. "The kids are chomping at the bit and ready to go. How will the Red Sox Do This Season?

Residents are asked to predict the final outcome of 162 games based on preseason and the media coverage of the 2011 Red Sox.

Excitement in the Boston area is reaching a fever pitch for the Red Sox 2011 baseball season to be underway. With the Red Sox's recent acquisitions of free agent Carl Crawford and Adrian Gonzalez through trades, Red Sox fans have high hopes for the team this year. Analysts predict the Red Sox to do well this year as well. In a recent poll, 33 out of 45 ESPN staff members selected the Red Sox as the favored 2011 World Series victors. Fans no longer have to wait. The Red Sox open the regular season on April 1 at 4:05 p.m against the Texas Rangers with Jon Lester on the mound. Patch polled Tewksbury residents at the Tewksbury Public Library to see how they thought the Red Sox might fare in 2011.
