CEO Leaving Tewksbury Hospital
CEO Sandra Akers will be leaving her post.
Chief Executive Officer of Tewksbury Hospital Sandra Akers will soon be leaving her post. "I have been appointed as bureau director for the public health hospitals, overseeing four of the state hospitals, including Tewksbury," Akers said Thursday. The job is still under the Department of Public Health umbrella. The bureau operates Lemuel Shattuck Hospital, Tewksbury Hospital, Massachusetts Hospital School and Western Mass Hospital. The change in job is effective Monday, Akers said. Akers, who started at Tewksbury Hospital in 2004 as the chief of the nursing program, has served as CEO since 2006.
