Arcari, Connolly To Represent Tewksbury In Shriners Classic

Tewksbury High football duo will play at Gillette Stadium on Friday night.

It's been more than two decades since Tewksbury High football coach Brian Aylward played in the Shriner's Football Classic, but he clearly remembers that feelings that players experience when they're chosen to compete with the best in the annual summer high school football showcase. "You can tell how special it is from the minute you show up at the first practice," said Aylward, who played in the 1987 game, a few weeks after he graduated from Tewksbury High. "All the linemen are big kids and they all can run. A lot of the starting quarterbacks you know aren't even playing quarterback, they're playing defense. Connolly Leads Tewksbury Over L-S

QB throws for three scores, runs for a fourth as Redmen throttle Lincoln-Sudbury, 28-17.

Sean Connolly lead his team on both sides of the ball. At quarterback and safety, the senior was able to lead the Tewksbury High football team to a 28-17 road win over Lincoln-Sudbury, Friday night. Connolly had three passing touchdowns, a rushing touchdown and an interception in the game. "(Connolly) showed he is one of the better kids out there," said Tewksbury head coach Brian Alyward. "Every time we needed a big play he did it." The Redmen were able to control the clock early. On a drive that took up over six minutes, Tewksbury was able to move the ball down the field and score on a pass to senior Ryan Viber. "It was huge to get an early lead," said Alyward."
