Tewksbury's Salter School Launches Fundraiser for One Fund Boston

Tee Shirts available for purchase at the school and the Tewksbury Senior Center.

The students and staff of Tewksbury's Salter School career training center have launched a fundraising campaign to raise money for One Fund Boston, the official fund set up to help the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings on April 15. The campaign was kicked off last week with a fun-filled event at the school's Woburn Road campus. The school has created One Fund Boston tee-shirts, which are available for purchase by the public for $10 each, with all proceeds going to One Fund Boston. The shirts can be purchased at the school and also at the Tewksbury Senior Center on Chandler Street. The tee-shirts will also be available for purchase at the Tewksbury Board of Health/Council on Aging Health Fair at the Senior Center today from 3 to 7 p.m…

2013 Tewksbury Municipal Election

Election Notebook: The Results Are In And We Have The Winners

We'll be updating this article throughout the afternoon and evening, with information regarding today's voting. We will have final results shortly after the polls close.

Good afternoon Tewksbury and welcome to our continuing coverage of the 2013 Tewksbury Municipal Election. We are 5 hours away from the polls closing. What do we know so far? Well, we're pretty sure that the sign holders are outnumbering the voters. Turnout has been extremely light -- disappointingly so, given that at least one new person will be added to the school committee and at least one new person will be added o the Board of Selectmen. There are also contested races for the Board of Health and Shawsheen Tech School Com. As of 1 p.m., the total of number voters, by ward, were as follows: 1 -- 198 1A -- 205 2 -- 174 2A -- 167 3 -- 178 3A -- 189 4 -- 163 4A -- 243 For the record, as of November 2012 there were 21,514 registered voters …

Senior Center to Host Series of Banking Seminars

Plenty happening during the month of April at the Senior Center.

A Gift Shop meeting will be held this Friday, April 5th at 10:00 AM followed by a Receptionist meeting at 11:15 AM. Residents are reminded that Town Elections will be held this Saturday, April 6th from 8 AM to 8 PM. Departure time for the Foxwood day trip of next Monday, April 8th is 7:00 AM sharp. Travelers are reminded to park along the perimeter of the parking lot. Ticket sales for the next casino trip will be distriputed on Tuesday, April 16th at 8:15 AM. Please note that this will be a Tuesday due to the Monday Holiday on April 15th. Girl Scouts To Hold Partner/Daughter Dance at Senior Center

Plenty of activities this spring at the Tewksbury Senior Center.

The Upscale Consignment Shop at the Senior Center will hold its “Intake of Items” day next Monday, April 1st from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. We are now taking “spring” clothing items. Winter clothing will no longer be accepted. Residents are reminded that the shop is open Monday through Thursday from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM; on Fridays from 9:30 to 11:00 AM; and, in the evening on “intake Day”. A note of thanks is extended to all those people who worked, donated or patronized the Senior Center Yard Sale which was held this past Saturday. Senior Center To Host Health Fair, Yard Sale

The Silvertones will hold its monthly dance at the Senior Center this Friday, March 15th beginning at 7:00 PM. Tickets are avaialable at the door at $10 per person. Corned Beef Cabbage Dinner and Dance Friday Night at Senior Center

A note of thanks is extended to all those who patronized the Senior Center Breakfast Benefit this past Sunday and to those volunteered their services for the event. The next Sunday Breakfast will be held on April 14th. The Friends and Seniors will hold an Annual Corned Beef Dinner and Dance this Friday, March 8th. One may drop by the Center or call 978-640-4480 to see if there are any tickets still available. Tickets are $15 per person and include a corned beef dinner served at 6:00 PM followed by dancing to the sounds of the Perfect Match Band. Senior Center To Host A Cootie Party on Monday

A Senior Center Cootie Party will be next Monday, February 4th at 12:30 PM. This is a fun game day and everyone is invited to attend. Don't know how to play...come on down and we'll teach you. Next Monday, February 4th, is also the Upscale Consignment Boutique's “Intake of Items Day”. The Shoppe is now holding intake hours from 2:00 to 6:00 PM. This is a good time to stop and check out the new items that are placed in the shop. There are still several seats available for the casino day trip to Foxwood on Wednesday, February 6th. Senior Center To Host Memory Screenings

Preparations being made for annual Valentine's Dance.

The Silvertones will hold its first dance of the New Year this Friday, January 18th from 7:00 to 10:00 PM. Tickets are available at the door at $10 per person. The public is welcomed. The Senior Center will be closed next Monday, January 21st, in recognition of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. A happy and safe holiday is wished to all. Next Tuesday, January 22nd, Elder Services of the Merrimack Valley will conduct Free Memory Screenings from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. This event is free and the results of the screenings are immediately shared with you. The 15 minute screenings are conducted by ESMV. Space is limited and appointments are assigned on a first come-first serve basis. Memory screening is a simple and safe evaluation tool that checks memory…
