An alleged shoplifter may have escaped with some items from Wal-Mart but he also left something behind. According to Tewksbury Police, dispatch was called by the Loss Prevention Department at Walmart on Tuesday, Jan. 15 at around 6:30 p.m. to report a shoplifter who had just left the store. The caller reported that the alleged thief headed off toward the woods. But before he escaped into the trees, he left his bike behind at a fence. An officer recovered the suspect's getaway bike and brought it back to police headquarters. Arrests: Brenda Delucia, 42, 44 Michigan Road, Tewksbury, was arrested on Jan. 14 and charged with domestic assault and battery. The charges are out of Concord, Mass. One of three suspects arrested in connection with a burglary last week was arrested again the very next day. Erica Jane Ruane, 25, 15 Cannongate Road, Apt. 31, Tyngsboro, was arrested by Tewksbury Police the night of Dec. 4 and charged, along with two men, with breaking into a home at 666 Whipple Road earlier that day. Raune was arraigned in Lowell District Court on Wednesday, Dec. 5 and released pending her next court date. Later that same day, she and a second woman were arrested stealing merchandise at Home Depot on Route 38. Ruane was charged with shoplifting items with a value greater than $100. Tewksbury Police responded to multiple reports of assaults and domestic assaults this week. Gerard A Cardarelli, 41, 5109 Archstone Ave., Tewksbury, was arrested on Wednesday, Nov. 28, and charged with domestic assault and battery. Cardarelli was arraigned in Lowell District Court and held on $1,000 cash bail, according to an article appearing in the Lowell Sun. According to prosecutors, the complaint was filed by a 12-year-old girl who lives with Cardaelli and his girlfriend. The girl told police that Cardarelli and his girlfriend both hit her with coathangers and that Cardarelli slammed her head against a wall, according to the Sun article. Trio had allegedly stolen hundreds of dollars worth of baby formula from Walmart.
Two men and a woman are facing multiple charges after allegedly stealing a large amount of baby formula and then leading Tewksbury Police on a high-speed chase. According to a Tewksbury Police report, a call came in on Thursday, Nov. 1 at 1:50 p.m. from a loss prevention employee at Walmart on Route 38. The caller said that a person had just walked out of the store with a shopping cart filled with baby formula without paying. The employee was able to provide a description of the vehicle the suspect left in. Three units were sent to the scene and the suspect's vehicle, which had New Hampshire plates, was spotted turning left out of the Walmart parking lot. The thought of losing their diamond ring sends chills down the spine of most women. And to lose it in the middle of a busy department store makes it that much worse. But that's exactly what happened to a Walmart shopper on Thursday, Oct. 18. According to Tewksbury Police, the woman walked into police headquarters just after 3 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 19 and reported the ring was lost. She said she had lost it while shopping at Walmart the night before. At that point, all the police report seemed to be good for was an insurance claim. But then something amazing happened. Men tried to walk out with more than $1200 in baby formula.
Two men face larceny charges after allegedly trying to steal more than $1200 in baby formula from Walmart on Route 38. Dung V. Pham, 38, of 49 Second St., #4, Lowell, and Dahn Cong Tran, 39, of 67 Dewey St., 1st floor, Worcester, were arrested Monday afternoon at the store. Pham was charged with two counts of larceny over $250. Tran faces one count of larceny over $250. According to information provided by the Tewksbury Police Department, a call came in Monday at around 4:30 p.m. from a loss prevention employee at Walmart, reporting an attempted larceny in progress. Two arrested in separate domestic assault incidents.
A 27-year-old New Hampshire man faces multiple charges after allegedly assaulting officers at Tewksbury Police Headquarters. Timothy P. McCann, of 34 Lowe St. in Derry, NH, is charged with two counts of assault and one count of resisting arrest. According to information provided by the TPD, the incident began around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, when a 911 caller said she saw a man, possibly intoxicated, walking along Kendall Street. Officers responded to the scene and talked to the McCann. An officer gave him a courtesy ride to the Mobil On The Run and then another courtesy ride back to Kendall Street.
