Girls Lacrosse team comes up short against Chelmsford.
Softball Tewksbury 9, Chelmsford 8 A win is a win is a win. It wasn't a work of art but it was a thriller. The Redmen rallied from an 8-6 deficit in the bottom of the seventh inning to pull out a stunning 9-8 win over Chelmsford (7-4). Meaghan McLaughlin was the centerpiece of the game-winning rally. McLaughlin drilled a two-run triple to drive home a a pair of runs to tied the game. That set the stage for Brooke Hardy, who plated McLaughlin with a walk-off single to end the game. Missy Cordwell had three hits, including a home run, to pace the Redmen attack. Hardy also had three hits. Erin Walsh and Tiffanie Marsh added two hits apiece. Half not good enough for boys lacrosse team in loss to Billerica.
Softball Haverhill 2, Tewksbury 1 Shannon McLaughlin continued her outstanding in the circle for Tewksbury, tossing a two-hitter, while striking out nine and not allowing an earned run. But defense and hitting were the downfall for the Redmen in a 2-1 loss to Haverhill. Defensive miscues led to a pair of unearned runs and the only offense came off the bat of Brooke Hardy, who cracked a solo home run. With the loss, Tewksbury drops to 4-2. Boys Lacrosse Billerica 14, Tewksbury 5 For one half, Tewksbury held the Billerica offense in check and built a 30-1 lead. Softball team improves to 3-1, baseball team drops another heartbreaker.
Boys Lacrosse Tewksbury 7, Groton-Dunstable 6 Timing is everything and James Sullivan's couldn't have been any better. Sullivan scored his only goal of the game with under a minute to play in regulation to give Tewksbury High a thrilling, 7-6 win over Groton-Dunstable. Zach Jacobs paced the Redmen offense with four goals. Tim Donovan and Johnny Aylward added the other tallies for the winners. Mike Brawley turned in another strong game in net with 13 saves. Boys lacrosse rides strong effort from Brawley to win over Central Catholic.
Softball Tewksbury 5, North Reading 3 The Redmen (2-1) faced another still teast in North Reading and came away with a big, non-league victory. Shannon McLaughlin turned in another strong effort in the circle. She went the distance, fanning five and giving up just one earned run against the potent Hornets. Second baseman Brooke Hardy drove in a pair of runs to pace the Redmen offense. Erin Walsh tripled and drove in another run. Senior Tiffanie Walsh played a rock solid game at shortstop and ripped a double at the plate. Tennis Lowell 5, Tewksbury 0 The Redmen weren't able to generate any momentum against Lowell. Softball team loses a heartbreaker to Concord-Carlisle.
Softball Concord-Carlisle 2, Tewksbury 1 In a battle between top softball teams, one swing of the bat can often make the difference. Such was the case in Concord-Carlisle's 2-1 win over Tewksbury. The Redmen held a 1-0 lead entering the fifth inning, with Shannon McLaughlin locked in a duel with CC's Galen Kerr. But the Patriots turned the tables in the fifth on a two-run triple by Angela DeBruzzi. The Redmen managed five hits against Kerr but couldn't get the tying run. Tiffanie Marsh scored Tewksbury's lone run. Girls Tennis Central Catholic 4, Tewksbury 1 Kylie Sedgwick, playing her first match as No. 1 singles, scored the lone victory for the Redmen. Boys LAX team bombs Haverhill, 18-6
Softball Tewksbury 11, Andover 0 She's back and she hasn't missed a beat. Shannon McLaughlin, who missed a good portion of last season due to injury, showed know lingering effects, as she tossed a brilliant one-hitter to lead Tewksbury past Andover High, 11-0, in the season=opener. McLaughlin was nearly flawless. She fanned seven and didn't walk a batter. Meanwhile, some familiar faces paced the Redmen offense. Junior second baseman Brooke Hardy picked right up where she left off last season, ripping three hits. Sam LaFerriere added a pair of hits and two RBI. (Editor's note: The following information was submitted by the coaches of the U16 Tewksbury Girls Softball Team.) After a Championship in the Think Pink Tournament 7-0 & a 3-1 Finish in The Old Orchard Southern Maine Diamond Challenge, the U16 Tewksbury Girls Softball team took home the U16 Massachusetts State championship this past weekend in Lowell. Tewksbury went 9-1 on the weekend and have an overall record of 19-2 on the young season. The Tewksbury Girls got off to a quick start on Friday making quick work of the Mass Fusion before taking a loss to Taunton Dynamite on Saturday Morning & going into the losers brackets and had to fight all day Saturday & Sunday facing elimination every game & beating 6 other teams (Lowell Dirt Dogs, …

Tennis team blanks Lawrence, softball team drops heart-breaker to Billerica.
Boys Lacrosse The youthful Tewksbury High boys lacrosse team surpassed the expectations of many on Sunday by qualifying for the State Tournament with a 10-6 win over Central Catholic. The Redmen followed up that huge win with a gritty 8-7 win over Dracut High to improve to 11-8 on the season. Sophomore Johnny Aylward played hero against Dracut, scoring the game-winning goal with less than a minute to play in the fourth quarter. Aylward had four goals in the game to pace the offense. Colin Quinn chipped in with his first goal of the year. Girls Tennis The history-making season for the TMHS girls' tennis team just keeps getting better. Peters sets single-game scoring record and girls lacrosse rallies to top Haverhill.
Softball _The Tewksbury High _softball team improved to 12-4 on the season with an efficient 3-0 win over Lowell Catholic on Thursday. Tiffanie Marsh continued to improve in the circle, as Shannon McLaughlin continues to recover from a broken hand. Marsh tossed a nifty one-hitter, striking out two and walking two. The Redmen found themselves locked in scoreless tie before scoring a run in the fifth and two more in the sixth to put the game away.
