Blizzard Watch Issued -- Nor'Easter Could Bring More Than 2 Feet of Snow

Forecasts vary but the latest projections are ominous.

The state and national news networks all agree on one thing, there is a storm coming to town for Friday and Saturday. What they don't agree on is how much snowfall Tewksbury is going to see. at 3:30 p.m., the National Weather Service issued a Blizzard Watch for the region, starting Friday morning and continuing through Saturday afternoon. As of Wednesday at 3 p.m., WCVB Ch. 5 was using a projection that called for more than two feet of nsow to bury the Merrimack Valley. A report from Jim Arnold, weather specialist with the Shrewsbury Management Agency, said the storm will likely begin Thursday and could leave 10 to 15 inches across the area. Roads Getting Slick, Forecast Worsens for Tewksbury

Storm is making a stronger push to the north and west.

What had been forecast to be a moderate winter storm for Tewksbury and the Merrimack Valley is beginning to pickup momentum and could wind up packing a pretty good wallop. The latest forecast from the National Weather Service is now calling for Tewksbury and the surrounding area to get 6-8 inches of snow. Snow is expected to continue through the night and a Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until Sunday at 7 a.m. Visibility on the roads is limited and fog is expected to roll in around midnight to 2 a.m. making it worse. The low temperature tonight will be around 26 degrees. There will also be steady North winds overnight from 10 to 13 mph.
