Redmen squads destroy Lawrence to complete unbeaten league seasons.
Girls Track Tewksbury 111, Lawrence 27 The Tewksbury High girls track team won 13 of 15 events and rolled over Lawrence, 111-27. The victory clinched the MVC Division 2 championship for the Redmen and capped a perfect 4-0 league season. "We don't really place a ton of emphasis on our dual meet record, but to be able to come through this three-year period without having a track and post a 15-0 record over that time is a credit to all the kids and the parents and coaches in the program," said Head Coach John Byrnes. "We feel like we're stronger now than we were three years ago, and that's true on the boys' side as well." Boys LAX team stays hot with sixth win of the year.
Girls Track Redmen claim three state titles at Division 2 State Relays Freshmen Ashley Colarusso and Jess Ripley and senior Devin Kelly are Tewksbury High's newest State Champs! The trio combined to take first place in the pole vault at the recent Division 2 State Relays. As a team, Tewksbury High placed second with 46 points. Central Catholic placed first overall with 50 points. The team of Colarusso, Ripley and Kelly combind for a total distance of 22 feet 6 inches. The javeline team of Chelsee Porcaro, Molly Robertson, Sara Semenza and the sprint medley relay team of Sara Semenza , Jen Schultz , Christine Baptiste, and Kelly Quigley also earned state championships at the Division 2 State Relays. Softball team improves to 3-1, baseball team drops another heartbreaker.
Boys Lacrosse Tewksbury 7, Groton-Dunstable 6 Timing is everything and James Sullivan's couldn't have been any better. Sullivan scored his only goal of the game with under a minute to play in regulation to give Tewksbury High a thrilling, 7-6 win over Groton-Dunstable. Zach Jacobs paced the Redmen offense with four goals. Tim Donovan and Johnny Aylward added the other tallies for the winners. Mike Brawley turned in another strong game in net with 13 saves. Boys lacrosse rides strong effort from Brawley to win over Central Catholic.
Softball Tewksbury 5, North Reading 3 The Redmen (2-1) faced another still teast in North Reading and came away with a big, non-league victory. Shannon McLaughlin turned in another strong effort in the circle. She went the distance, fanning five and giving up just one earned run against the potent Hornets. Second baseman Brooke Hardy drove in a pair of runs to pace the Redmen offense. Erin Walsh tripled and drove in another run. Softball team loses a heartbreaker to Concord-Carlisle.
Softball Concord-Carlisle 2, Tewksbury 1 In a battle between top softball teams, one swing of the bat can often make the difference. Such was the case in Concord-Carlisle's 2-1 win over Tewksbury. The Redmen held a 1-0 lead entering the fifth inning, with Shannon McLaughlin locked in a duel with CC's Galen Kerr. But the Patriots turned the tables in the fifth on a two-run triple by Angela DeBruzzi. The Redmen managed five hits against Kerr but couldn't get the tying run. Seniors Mark Ayles and Nichaela Samson have been honored as the March winners of the Tewksbury High 'Hats Off' Awards. The students were honored for their acadamic achievement and extra-curricular involvement at a recent Tewksbury Rotary Club luncheon at the Tewksbury Country Club. Mark is the son of Kendra McCauley. He has been recognized on the Principal's List and has achieved Honor Roll Status several times. He has given more than 200 hours of volunteer service with the Danvers Police Department, helping with the Town of Danvers for any public event with security, traffic control, etc. Mark is employed at Barron's Country Store in Andover but he has also worked with Joe Dermody and the Tewksbury High Media Department for two years. …

Award recognizes students who have distinguished themselves academically, have contributed to the co-curricular program at TMHS and have been active in the community.
Tewksbury High School and the Tewksbury Rotary Club recently named senior Khoa Mac as the latest recipient of the Hats Off Award. Hats Off is a joint initiative of the Rotary Club and TMHS. The award recognizes students who have distinguished themselves academically, have contributed to the co-curricular program at TMHS and have been active in the community. Khoa, the daughter of Thuy Le, immigrated to the United States at 11 and learned English as a second language. Khoa has received several Renaissance gold and silver card awards for academic achievement. In addition to being an outstanding student, she is also a hockey cheerleader.
