Redmen prove they are for real with a convincing, 21-6 win over Central Catholic.
A week ago, it was a shocking upset. Maybe now, it's time for the rest of the Merrimack Valley Conference to take the Tewksbury High Redmen seriously. For the second straight week, the TMHS football team invited one of the MVC's super powers to visit Doucette Field on Saturday. And for the second straight week, they sent their guests home with their tails between their legs. This week's victim was Central Catholic High School, which brought a stingy defense and a 2-1 record to town, only to watch the Redmen roll up 237 yards rushing on their way to a convincing, 21-6 beat down of the Raiders. Senior quarterback Kevin Saunders had one of the best games of his career for Tewksbury, completing 6-of-10 passes for 92 yards and a touchdown, …

Lincoln-Sudbury shuts down Tewksbury High, 28-0
It came as no surprise to Tewksbury High football coach Brian Aylward that Lincoln-Sudbury High was capable of putting plenty of points on the board. After all, the Warriors had their starting quarterback, their top three running backs and their top receiver back from last year's team, which won the Dual County League Division 1 championship. But what Aylward and his Redmen weren't prepared for was a smothering defensive effort out of the LSHS defense, which completely shut down Tewksbury High on its way to a 28-0 opening day victory Saturday afternoon at Doucette Field. Tewksbury's offense failed to muster even a single first down in the first two periods, while Lincoln-Sudbury systematically built a 14-0 halftime lead. The TMHS offense …

Tewksbury coaches react with mixed emotions to Dual County League acceptance.
The reality of Tewksbury High's impending move to the Dual County League started to sink in around Tewksbury High on Tuesday, and reactions were somewhat restrained in the face of numerous questions surrounding the move. Athletic directors from the 10 existing DCL schools will meet with athletic directors from the four new invitees -- Tewksbury, North Andover, Chelmsford and Billerica -- on May 23 to begin discussing how the transition will take place. "It's still a huge process for us in trying to figure it all out and make sure it's the right move and the right fit," said TMHS Athletic Director Brian Hickey. "We cleared the first hurdle but there's still the matter of an interview and, on our part, we need to analyze the decision and …
