Tewksbury - 3 Somerville - 3 Game Date: 5/18/11 On a misty Wednesday evening, Tewksbury travelled to Somerville. The game was intense at times as the ball rolled quicker on the turf. Riley Frost along with Kyle Braciska ran the ball up the field with some shots on net. Chad Boschetti with some great sweeps kept the ball away from our goal, but despite all the efforts made by Garrett Miskell and Kyle Braciska, Somerville made it past Mike Reppucci with a goal. However, Brandon Melo got a penalty kick scoring for Tewksbury - The score before half, 1 to 1. After the half, RJ Florino made a great goal. Shortly …

Tewksbury Defense Shows Ferocity in Draw

The energy of this back and forth 0-0 tie with Wilmington was evident from the opening whistle and only intensified as play got chippier and tensions grew.

On a windy, chilly, near-autumn day, defense was the name of the game. Tewksbury and Wilmington varsity girls' soccer held each other scoreless for two halves on Friday afternoon at Livingston Street Field, finishing in a 0-0 draw. In what ended up being a very physical game of two evenly matched teams, the Lady Redmen were unable to muster any offense against the rival powerhouse Wildcats. Luckily for Tewksbury, however, goalkeeper Rebecca Davies was manning the net and made some spectacular and well-timed saves, including a show-stopper midway through the first half on a free kick. "Rebecca was so excellent. Our girls had losing seasons the past two years, but the ability they showed today was great," says Coach Kelly Barrio. "I'm very …

High School Roundup: Redmen JVs Overmatched in 6-1 Loss to Indians

Ron Mallach scores for Tewksbury, who couldn't get it going against Billerica in a JV match.

On this day, the Redmen couldn't handle the Indians. The Tewksbury JV squad showed their inexperience against a bigger, stronger Billerica team in a 6-1 defeat Thursday on Indians' home turf. Five different Indians scored against the Redmen, who couldn't seem to stop the offensive attack. Joe Hill scored two of Billerica's six goals in the loss. While some positives were able to be taken out of the defeat, it appeared that Tewksbury had extreme difficulty advancing the ball past midfield. "Yes, we have lots of work to do and our guys need to learn to mark their man better, but our forwards and midfields are decent, they just need to learn to take advantage of their skills. We'll get better," said head coach Kevin Gillotte. Goaltender Joe …
