We've got video coverage from Wilmington, where the Tewksbury football team earned a Thanksgiving Day victory over their rivals.

It wasn't perfect, but it was still a win. Tewksbury rolled over rival Wilmington on Thursday in their final tuneup before the postseason begins against Reading. See what both coaches had to say, and see some of the sights and sounds from another Thanksgiving Day rivalry game.

Tewksbury dominated rival Wilmington and went on to an 18-6 Turkey Bowl win.

Before they headed to their Thanksgiving Day dinners, the Tewksbury footbal team chowed down on a heaping plate of Wildcat. The Redmen dominated their annual Turkey Bowl tilt against Wilmington, earning an 18-6 victory on Thursday. Eddie Matovu got the ball rolling when he cracked the scoreboard on a five-yard dash with 6:19 to play in the first quarter. With four seconds left in the first half, quarterback Johnny Aylward opened the game up a bit more with a 40-yard dash on a drive that began with a fumble recovery by captain Christian Taylor. Then with 3:51 to go in the third quarter, James Sullivan put the game out of reach when he bruised ahead for a one-yard score, giving his team an 18-0 lead.

VIDEO: Behind Turkey Bowl Enemy Lines

A look at what Wilmington is saying in advance of Thursday's big game.

For a game that means nothing to the Wilmington High School football team, Thursday’s Thanksgiving Day game means everything. Continuing a tradition that dates back about 80 years, the Wildcats will battle bitter rival Tewksbury in the team’s final contest of the season. Wilmington enters the game at 6-3 overall, 4-1 in Middlesex League small school play. “It’s the playoffs, it’s the Super Bowl, it’s wining that Turkey Day trophy and getting to show it off in the case. That’s basically our Super Bowl trophy,” said senior quarterback Matt Ferreira. “It’s definitely a lot better day if we win the game.” Tewksbury is heading in the opposite direction as its border rival.
