The number of completed foreclosures in Tewksbury was cut by more than half in 2012 compared to the year before, according to the latest figures from The Warren Group. With prices and interest rates low, sales of single-family homes and condos are booming in the Bay State.
House hunters looking for bargains are having a field day in Tewksbury and across Massachusetts, as the once-floundering housing market continues to rebound in a huge way. According to statistics published by The Warren Group, 19 single-family homes sold in Tewksbury in October. That's a jump of 72.3 percent over October 2011. A total of 212 single-family homes have sold in Tewksbury in 2012 (through Oct. 31). That represents a whopping 36.8 percent increase over the same 10-month time period from 2011. Homes sales in Tewksbury have risen sharply over the past year, those prices continue to slump, according to information released by The Warren Group, Publishers of Banker & Tradesman and The Commercial Record. According to statistics provided, 21 homes sold in April in Tewksbury. That's up 50 percent over April 2011. Through the first four months of 2012, 69 homes have been sold in Tewksbury. That's up 25.5 percent over the same time period a year ago. Those numbers are in line with homes sale statistics across Massachusetts.
