On April 27th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Tewksbury Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will give the public another opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs. Middlesex County Sheriff introduces Massachusetts Inmate Data Network.
Middlesex County law enforcement agencies now have an additional tool to fight crime—more and easier access to information about prison inmates. The Middlesex County Sheriff's office recently unveiled MIDNet, the Massachusetts Inmate Data Network, which allows police officers to access information on inmates in hopes of bolstering public safety, according to the Sheriff's office. "Our detectives are already using it. It's set up and we've gotten the training to be able to navigate it," said Tewksbury Police Chief Timothy Sheehan. "It's something our detectives used, along with CopLink, with that kidnapping (at Motel 6) a couple of weeks ago." Investigation spearheaded by Department of Homeland Security.
Tewksbury brothers are facing felony child pornography charges after being arrested on Dec. 20. Steven M. Fierimonte, 43, and Robert C. Fierimonte, 50, were arrested by Tewksbury detectives at their residence at 100 Prospect Hill Drive. Details regarding the case are limited, as the investigation is ongoing, according to Tewksbury Police Chief Timothy Sheehan. Sheehan said agents from the Department of Homeland Security arrived at Tewksbury Police Headquarters the morning of Dec. 20 and informed him of an investigation involving the Fierimonte brothers and alleged involvement with child pornography. Stricken with cancer, Nathan Norman wanted to be visited by as many of his heroes as possible.
Police Chief Timothy Sheehan said he is extremely proud of the six Tewksbury Police officers who took part in a project to brighten the Christmas of a young Virginia boy stricken with cancer. More than 250 officers, representing 85 departments in New Hampshire and Massachusetts took part in a caravan that travelled to Lynchburg, Va. on Wednesday. And today, they visited six-year-old Nathan Norman, giving him his own personal parade of first-responders. Virginia TV station WSET covered the visit. Earthquake was centered approximately 30 miles west of Portland, Maine.
UPDATED 8:52 p.m. (Editor's note: The USGS originally measured the earthquake as a 4.6 magnitude. As of 8:30 p.m. it was downgraded to 4.0 magnitude. The article has been updated accordingly.) An earthquake centered in Maine was felt throughout the Merrimack Valley Tuesday evening. The US Geological Survey reports the earthquake was measured at a 4.0 magnitude with an epicenter west of Hollis Center, Maine. The quake struck at 7:12 p.m. The depth of the quake was approximately 3.1 miles. Police Chief Timothy Sheehan said a Code Red announcement will be made shortly. Tewksbury deputy police chief selected to participate in prestigious 10-week training program.
Two hundred sixty-four law enforcement officers graduated last month from the FBI National Academy Program at Quantico, VA. Among them was Deputy Chief John S. Voto of the Tewksbury Police Department. According to Tewksbury Police Chief Timothy Sheehan, the National Academy Program is Internationally known for its academic excellence. The challenging, 10-week program is held at the FBI Academy and offers "advanced investigative, management, and fitness training for selected Officers having proven records as professionals within their agencies," said Sheehan. "It's an outstanding program," said Voto. "Every day I was down there I was learning something new." The waiting list to get into the academy is lengthy. Voto waited several years …

Tewksbury Police forced to use stun gun to subdue suspect.
A Waltham man is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly breaking into a Blease Drive home early Wednesday morning and attacking family members with a knife. According to Tewksbury Police Chief Timothy Sheehan, officers responded to 55 Blease Drive after getting a call reporting that Eathan Becker 25, of 181 College Farm Road, Waltham, had broken into the home via the basement and was engaged in a fight with residents. Officers responding to the address found evidence of the break-in and were informed Becker was armed with a knife. The officers discovered Becker in the living room fighting with two other residents of the home. According to Sheehan, Becker’s hands were covered in blood. Police are able to track down the owner of the tan Ford Taurus who told a 10-year-old he was looking for a lost dog.
Tewksbury Police investigators successfully tracked down the driver of a tan Ford Taurus who approached a 10-year-old girl Friday evening claiming to be looking for a lost dog. The incident took place near Green Street and the girl and her father reported it to police on Saturday. According to Police Chief Timothy Sheehan, the investigation revealed that the man was, in fact, looking for a dog that was owned by a relative and had been last seen in the Silver Lake area. The case has now been closed, said Sheehan. According to information in the Tewksbury Police log, the incident took place between 6:30 and 7 p.m. on Sept. 7. Sheehan warns drives to drive sober or be pulled over.

The Tewksbury Police Department today announced it will join 128 other law enforcement agencies statewide in support of an intensive crackdown on impaired driving from August 15 to September 3 as part of the national Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over mobilization, funded by a federal grant administered through the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security’s Highway Safety Division (EOPSS-HSD). Impaired driving is one of America’s most often committed and deadliest crimes. In 2010, 115 people died in impaired driving related crashes in the Commonwealth.
