Gomez to Launch Campaign This Week

Gomez, a former Navy SEAL, is planning several events this week to kick of his run for the U.S. Senate.

Former Navy SEAL Gabriel Gomez will officially launch his U.S. Senate campaign on Thursday and Friday, according to the Boston Herald. Gomez, a Republican from Cohasset, will run for the seat vacated by new Secretary of State John Kerry. His campaign kicks off Thursday with events in Boston and Springfield, according to the Herald. Friday will bring more events on the North and South shores, though the Herald didn’t specify any venues or times. Gomez, known for evading the spotlight, will also likely stop for several “meet-and-greet” events with local leaders and supporters during those two days. However, the events will not be open to the media, according to the Herald. Once candidates are certified by the Secretary of the Commonwealth, …

Elizabeth Warren Wins U.S. Senate Seat in Massachusetts

Democrat Elizabeth Warren beat incumbent candidate Scott Brown in the Massachusetts U.S. Senate race.

Democratic challenger Elizabeth Warren has beaten incumbent Republican candidate Scott Brown for a seat on the U.S. Senate, according to the Associated Press. Warren is won by a margin of eight percentage points, 54 percent to 46 percent, making her the first female senator elected in Massachusetts.  An estatic Warren addressed a crowd of hundreds of excited supporters at the Copley Fairmont Plaza hotel in Boston on Tuesday night. "We did what everyone thought was impossible," she said. "We taught a scrappy, first-time candidate how to win." Scott Brown and Elizabeth Warren to Debate Thursday Night on WBZ

Heated Senate race heads into its final weeks.

The two candidates for the U.S. Senate from Massachusetts will square off for the first time in a live televised debate at WBZ studios in Boston. Senate Candidate's Walking Tour Stops In Tewksbury

Senatorial Candidate Tom Conroy has been walking across Massachusetts since July 2 to meet the people he wants to represent.

Tom Conroy walked into Capellini's Restaurant on early Wednesday afternoon. With sweat running down his face, he introduced himself to Christopher Jenkins, the only constituent there to greet him. A democratic candidate vying for Scott Brown's senate seat in the 2012 election, Conroy is walking across Massachusetts in an attempt to meet as many voters as possible. He started on July 2, from his home in Wayland and plans to walk to town-to-town throughout the state before September.  Wednesday marked the completion of his 530th mile. He started off in North Andover and ended his day in Lowell. Conroy will end his walk on the Boston Common in early September.
