Lions Skate Past Redmen in Ice Hockey Season Opener, 7-2

Tewksbury High falls behind early and can't recover against Chelmsford.

Chelmsford High School Lions Captain Drew Dawson netted a hat trick last night as the Lions ran over the Tewksbury High Redmen in the boys varsity ice hockey home opener. The final score was 7-2. The Lions exploded in the first period with Dawson finding the back of the Redmen net first at the 5:31 mark and again one minute and 45 seconds lafter. Both Dawson's goals were assisted by Tommy Bishop and Danny Ferri. Bishop netted his own goal with two minutes and seven seconds left in the first period. The Redmen were quick to answer with their first point on the board when Captain David Petti put a puck past Lions netminder Derek Noble. But Danny Ferri battled back for the Lions and netted a goal from Tommy Bishop and Jon Fairbanks with 30 …
