Tewksbury To Honor Veterans on Sunday, Nov. 11

Ceremony to take place at 11 a.m. on the Town Common.

Tewksbury will be observe Veterans Day on Sunday, Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. on the Town Common. Tewksbury Veterans Agent Jim Williams will serve as master of ceremonies for the event. All veterans and families and residents are invited to attend the annual ceremony. The ceremony is an opportunity to "salute those who have served to keep this country the great country it is, to honor those who have sacrificed so much and pay tribute to the spirit which moves them to do what they do for us," said Williams. The guest speaker this year will be Major Paul McArtor, USAF. In addition, anyone attending is asked to bring at least one non-perishable item to the ceremony. All items will be collected and donated to the Tewksbury Food Pantry.

Tewksbury High Veterans Day Ceremony Set for Friday, Nov. 9

Ceremony to take place in the school gymnasium.

(Editor's Note: The following information was submitted by the administration of Tewksbury High.) Tewksbury Memorial High School will be honoring our Veterans at our annual Veteran’s Day Ceremony.  Local Veterans will be recognized as well as several of our faculty who have served our country.  There will be special musical tributes performed for our Veterans played by the Tewksbury Memorial High School Band under the direction of Mr. Andrew Walsh and patriotic songs sung by our TMHS Faculty Choir. Several of our auditioning students were also chosen to sing solos at the ceremony.  Our own faculty member, Ms. Susan Barnett will be playing the bagpipes.  Students who were selected in our essay contest will be reading their essays at the …

Post Office is closed, as are schools and banks.

The Veterans Day holiday is being celebrated Monday, Nov. 12. What is open and closed on Veterans Day, 2012. Town Hall and all town offices: Closed State offices: Closed. Banks: Closed Federal offices: Closed Public Library: Closed Senior Center: Closed Schools: Closed. Liquor stores: Open Supermarkets: Open. Convenience stores: Open. Taverns, bars: Open. Stock market: Open. Retail stores: Owner's discretion. Mail: Post offices closed; express delivery only.
