Hundreds Of Residents Donate At 4th Annual Zero Waste Day
From books to bikes, from furniture to computers -- thousands of pounds of items were donated at the 4th Annual Zero Waste Day and kept out of landfills.
According to the Facebook fan page of 4th Annual Tewksbury Zero Waste Day, nearly 500 cars passed through the parking lot of the Wynn Middle School on Saturday. "Our warmest thanks for a wonderfully successful Zero Waste Day! Results are still coming in, but we know that we served 493 donors, donated more than 2,500 books and 97 bikes, and each organization drove away with trucks (some multiple) full of items that will help thousands of neighbors in need. We couldn't be happier! Stay tuned in the coming days for more details. The event is sponsored by the Tewksbury Congregational Church and the Tewksbury Recycling Committee.
