Schools In Brief Lockdown During Police Manhunt

Suspect sought in attempted murder at Motel 6.

Police in two communities are searching for a suspect wanted in connection with an attempted murder at the Motel 6 in Tewksbury on Monday. The incident took place just after noon and resulted in five Lowell schools going into a "soft lockdown" while police searched the area for the suspect, who'd fled the motel on foot, according to an article appearing on www.lowellsun.com. Tewksbury Police are attempting to idetify the suspect, who has been described as being a man in his late 30s. He allegedly attempted to kill a woman by strangling her. Couple Wanted For Child Abuse May Have Been Spotted In Lowell

Plaistow, NH couple Jessica Linscott and Roland Dow may have been spotted in Lowell this morning.

A Plaistow, NH couple charged with battering, burning and endangering a 3-year-old remain on the run from police and the search has moved into the Merrimack Valley. Lowell Police have received reports of a couple matching the desciption of Jessica Linscott and Roland Dow in area of Rt. 495 and Woburn Street, according to reports published on Twitter by the Lowell Sun. According to the reports, the woman was wearing a pink coat with her face covered. Over the weekend, police received tips that Linscott, 23—the mother of the boy—and her boyfriend Dow, 27, were recently at gas stations and coffee shops in the North Shore part of Massachusetts. Waltham Man Makes Bail Then Allegedly Tries To Kill Relatives

Tewksbury Police forced to use stun gun to subdue suspect.

A Waltham man is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly breaking into a Blease Drive home early Wednesday morning and attacking family members with a knife. According to Tewksbury Police Chief Timothy Sheehan, officers responded to 55 Blease Drive after getting a call reporting that Eathan Becker 25, of 181 College Farm Road, Waltham, had broken into the home via the basement and was engaged in a fight with residents. Officers responding to the address found evidence of the break-in and were informed Becker was armed with a knife. The officers discovered Becker in the living room fighting with two other residents of the home. According to Sheehan, Becker’s hands were covered in blood. Lowell Man Arrested For Attempted Murder After Stabbing At Motel

Victim is in stable condition after being stabbed in the chest.

A Lowell man is facing attempted murder charges after allegedly stabbing another man in the chest during an altercation in a local motel. Kendrick Sanders, 58, of 82 Gorham St., Lowell, was arrested by Tewksbury Police, who responded to a report of a stabbing at the Motel 6, 95 Main St. According to a Tewksbury Police report, Dispatch received a call from the desk clerk at the Motel 6, reporting that a man had come to the front desk and said  he had just been stabbed by a man in Room 107. As the desk clerk called police, the victim left the motel and disappeared. Police responded to Room 107, interviewed Sanders and found the knife allegedly used in the stabbing. Attempted Murder Charge, Another Dog Attack Highlight Police Log

A Tewksbury teen is facing charges of attempted murder after a domestic disturbance at the Motel Caswell Wednesday night. According to a Tewksbury police report, a 911 call reported an argument in one of the motel rooms. Officers responded to the scene and after talking to the alleged victim and conducting an investigation, they arrested Jonathan Patrick Whitcomb, 18, 14 Pond View Lane, Tewksbury. Whitcomb is charged with attempted murder and assault and battery. No further details on the charger are available at this time. Tewksbury Woman Allegedly Kidnapped, Assaulted Over Two Days

Suspect arrested arraigned on attempted murder, kidnapping charges.

A Woburn man was held on $50,000 bail last night after being arrested and charged with attempted murder. Thomas Ponte, 41, of 75 Elm St., was arrested and charged with attempted murder, armed kidnapping with serious bodily injury, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (three counts), intimidation of a witness, larceny under $250 and malicious destruction of property over $250. The victim in the case is a Tewksbury woman, whom Ponte allegedly kidnapped and and assaulted over two days. In Woburn District Court Wednesday afternoon, Ponte was represented by a public defender, but loudly remarked that he would be "hiring my own lawyer." Man Charged With Attempted Murder After Road Rage Incident

A Lawrence man is facing attempted murder charges after a bizarre road rage incident that began near the Andover town line and ended on the grounds of Tewksbury State Hospital. Hermenes Rosa, 23, of 149 Myrtle St, Lawrence, was arrested Sunday afternoon after allegedly striking a man with his vehicle twice in the parking lot of the hospital, driving a distance with the victim on the hood each time. According to information provided by Police Chief Timothy Sheehan, the confrontation began 1:47 p.m. when the alleged victim was pulling out of the Dunkin' Donuts/Fresh Express parking lot onto East Street. Teen Sent To Hospital With Alcohol Poisoning; Adult Facing Charges

A Tewksbury teen is recovering after being hospitalized over the weekend with alcohol poisoning. The 14-year-old male, whose name is not being released, was taken to Saints Medical Center in Lowell late Saturday night (Aug. 6). According to a spokesman for the Tewksbury Police Department, charges are pending against a 22-year-old Lowell man for providing the teen with the alcohol. Deputy Police Chief John Voto would not release the name of the suspect, as official charges have not yet been filed. The incident began just after midnight, Sunday morning, when police received an anonymous phone call reporting an underaged drinking party at a home on Highland Avenue.
