New Year Brings New Burglaries Across Town

The new year brought with it a new rash of break-ins and attempted break-ins across Tewksbury. On Thursday, Jan. 3, a Chandler Street resident called police at 5:48 p.m. and reported that her home had been broken into. Officers responded and a report was filed. That same day, at 8:37 a.m., there was a report of stolen aluminum at Boutiette's Auto Body, 2115 Main St. A report was filed. At 12:08 p.m., also on Jan.3, a Charme Road resident called police to report that two of his grandchildren's sleds had been stolen some time overnight from their residence. At 1:11 p.m., again on Jan. 3, the owner of John Ryan's Pubs called police, reporting he had discovered that someone had attempted to break into the business. An officer was dispatched to…

At Least Seven More Cars Broken Into On Merrimack Meadows Lane

Merrimack Meadows Lane has been struck by thieves for the second time in less than a week. Just a few days after a home and three cars were broken into on the lane, seven more cars were broken into Sunday night into early Monday morning, Sept. 23-24. According to Tewksbury Police reports, the first 911 call came in around 5:18 a.m., Monday morning, reporting that a vehicle on Merrimack Meadows Lane had been broken into and that an I-Pod and a car stero had been stolen. Ove the next several hours, six more calls came in, reporting additional car break-ins along Merrimack Meadows Lane, all very close to the original call.
