Cars were broken into at several locations in South Tewksbury.
Police believe they have solved a recent string of car breaks that has businesses all along Route 38. Tewksbury officers arrested Joseph Arnold, 20, of 125 Salem St., Wilmington and Howard Hall, 20, of 2020 Main St., Tewksbury on Wednesday. The men are accused of breaking into several vehicles over the last few weeks. Arnold faces four counts of breaking and entering into a motor vehicle, three counts of larceny over $250, and larceny under $250. Hall faces three counts of breaking and entering into a motor vehicle, three counts of larceny over $250, and conspiracy. A new rash of motor vehicle break-ins has struck another Tewksbury neighborhood. Over the weekend, car owners in a section of North Tewksbury were victimized, including residents living on Longmeadow Road, Hood Road and Cleghorn Lane. At 1:39 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 9, a Hood Road resident came into Police Headquarters to report a vehicle break-in. Later Sunday night, 9:45 p.m. a Longmeadow Road resident called Tewksbury Police to report that someone had broken into his vehicle during the day and had stolen his cell phone. While the officer was talking to that resident, a neighbor came out and reported that his vehicles had been broken into as well. Merrimack Meadows Lane has been struck by thieves for the second time in less than a week. Just a few days after a home and three cars were broken into on the lane, seven more cars were broken into Sunday night into early Monday morning, Sept. 23-24. According to Tewksbury Police reports, the first 911 call came in around 5:18 a.m., Monday morning, reporting that a vehicle on Merrimack Meadows Lane had been broken into and that an I-Pod and a car stero had been stolen. Ove the next several hours, six more calls came in, reporting additional car break-ins along Merrimack Meadows Lane, all very close to the original call. Trio nabbed walking away from the scene of the crimes.
Three teens, including two 2011 Tewksbury High graduates, were arrested early Thursday morning for allegedly breaking into two cars overnight. According to a press release issued by Chief Timothy Sheehan, Paul Moriarty Jr., 19, of 83 Shawsheen St., Tewksbury, Stefan Herceg, 18, 14 Pace Road., Tewksbury, and Warren Taylor, 17, 15 Brook Street, Lynn, were spotted by Tewksbury Police officers at around 3 a.m., walking along Wolcott Street near Tew-Mac Terrace.
