Elks To Host Thanksgiving Dinner For Seniors

November and December activities at the Tewksbury Senior Center.

The Elks Thanksgiving for Tewksbury Senior Citizens will be held this Thursday, November 15th at 6:00 PM. If there are enough people signed up for bus transportation, the bus will begin picking up Senior at 4:45 PM. Please be ready prior to pick-up time remembering that there are other people being picked up and that it takes time to get everyone. Thank you. On Friday, November 16th, the Silvertones Band will hold its monthly dance at the Senior Center from 7:00 to 10:00 PM. The dress is casual and the price is $10. Tickets are available at the door. Why not come on down and enjoy an evening of dancing or even just listening to good music. The Methuen Annual “Festival of Trees” will begin this coming weekend. Senior Citizens and Red …

Tewksbury Seniors Have The Chance To Tune Up And Get Down

Openings still available for the Friends of the Seniors Golf Tournament.

A new exercise program will begin this Friday, September 7th. The class will be called “Tune Up -Get Down” and will concentrate on upper body weights and moving to music with lots of fun. This introductory class will be free this first week. The class will be held every Friday mornings from 9:00 to 9:45 AM. The following trips and events are taking place in September: On Sunday, October 21st – The fantastic Edwards Twins Celebrity Impersonator Show back by popular demand. Tickets are now on sale at $55 per person and include a buffet luncheon. A pleasant week is wished to all. God Bless America.

Senior Center To Host Benefit Breakfast

The Friends of the Elderly will hold its monthly dance this Friday, May 4th from 7-10 PM. Tickets may be obtained at the door at $10 per person. Entertainment is being provided by the Perfect Match Band. A Senior Center Breakfast Benefit will be held this Sunday, May 6th from 7:30 to 11:00 AM. Proceeds from this breakfast will benefit GAC High School Scholarships. Tickets are available at the door at the following prices: Adults $6; Kids 12 and under $3; and, Toddlers free. The menu includes: Pancakes, Scrambled Eggs, Bacon & Sausage; Homefries, Beans, Toast and Beverages. Senior Center To Host Health Fair on May 2

Tribute To Rod Stewart concert on May 12.

Rick Larrimore will be appearing at the Tewksbury Senior Center performing his “Tribute to Rod Stewart” on Saturday, May 12th. Dancing will take place all evening. As an added feature Lee Lewis and the Doo Wop Allstars will also be on hand for even more entertainment. You won't want to miss this musically energized night. Tickets are $20 per person and can be obtained at the Senior Center. Advance ticket purchase is recommended. This is expected to be a sell-out...so don't be shut-out. Get your tickets early. A special note of thanks is extended to all those people who supported the Breakfast Benefit which was held this past Sunday at the Senior Center to raise funds for Ashley Dias's Lung Transplant. We are pleased to report that the patrons of the event and the seniors raised $1,525 which is being donated to the NFT Mass Transplant Fund for Ashley Dias. May the spirit of the season and the warmth and caring of family and friends be with everyone during the holidays and throughout the new year. The winner of the raffle was Jan MacPherson. New Tai Chi Class Offered At The Senior Center

Murder Mystery Dinner Theater scheduled for this weekend.

ACTORS, inc. will hold a dinner theater at the Senior Center this: Friday, November 18th at 6:00 PM; Saturday, November 19th at a 12 noon matinee and again at 6:00 PM; and, on Sunday, November 20th at a 12 noon matinee. PHOTOS: Veterans Day 2011 In Tewksbury

Tewksbury celebrates its heroes, past and present.

Several hundred residents turned out Friday as Tewksbury celebrated its heroes with the annual Veterans Day Services. Veterans Agent Jim Williams served as emcee for the event, which featured speeches by several community leaders. The keynote address was offered by Army Major Stephen Flanagan, a Tewksbury native. Flanagan is a highly decorated veteran, having earned, among other honors, two Bronze Stars during three combat tours in Iraq and another in Afghanistan. Another notable speech was made by student Barrett Hodgson, who presented an essay on "What The Pledge of Allegiance Means To Me."
