Pedestrian Injured When Struck By Car On Main Street

The following information was supplied by the Tewksbury Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A female pedestrian was injured Tuesday night when struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross Route 38 in the vicinity of the Ninety-Nine Restaurant. According to Tewksbury Police, the accident took place around 8:15 p.m. The pedestrian, whom police described as being a female in her 40s, was wearing dark clothing, which made it difficult to be seen. She was also crossing in an area where there is no crosswalk. The vehicle involved in the accident was driven by a female, who stopped immediately after striking the pedestrian. While the cause the accident remains under investigation, no citations have been issued.
