Tewksbury Man Charged With String of Burglaries

Tewksbury Police crack string of break-ins in the Pringle Street neighborhood.

When Tewksbury Police were searching for a suspect in string of burglaries in the Pringle Street area, they didn't have to look too far. On Saturday, Police arrested William A Medugno, 23, of 18 Pringle St, in connection with the crime spree. According to Tewksbury Police Chief Timothy Sheehan, TPD Detectives developed leads during the investigation, which led them to identify Medugno as a suspect. On Saturday, officers went to his residence to question him. However, when officers arrived, they saw Medugno fleeing the house out the back door. Officers caught up to him and placed him under arrest for several outstanding warrants. Two More Neighborhoods Struck by Wave of Vehicle Break-ins

Local man arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs.

The rising number of vehicle break-ins in Tewksbury is inching toward epidemic proportions and this time, the crimes may have taken an ominous turn. Just days after a thief, or thieves, hit numerous vehicles in the Coolidge Street neighborhood, several more vehicles were hit late Sunday night or early Monday morning in the Delehanty Road/Chandler Street area. In addition, another batch of vehicles was struck in the Brook Street/Oakland Avenue neighborhood just off Salem Street. In both instances, officers responded to calls from residents who woke up to find their cars had been broken into. UPDATED: Burglary Suspect Linked to Six Breaks in Two Towns

Homeowner calls police after coming face to face with man in her home.

UPDATED 6:30 p.m. Face-to-face with an unwanted visitor in her home, a John Street resident didn't panic, she called 911. As a result, a string of burglaries spanning at least two communities may have been solved. Tewksbury Police arrested Edward James Flynn, 48, of Lowell, shortly after he broke into a home at 161 John Street at around 9:30 a.m. Monday. Officers responded to a 911 call from the homeowner, who gave a detailed description of the man, standing in her home. According to the police report, he was described as being in his 40s, 5-11, wearing eye glasses, a blue baseball cap, a flannel shirt and dungarees. The woman said the man claimed to be in her home to give an estimate on roof repair. He left the residence before police …

Tewksbury Teen Charged in String of Break-ins

17-year-old suspect caught allegedly leaving the scene of a home burglary.

A Tewksbury teen is facing multiple charges after he was allegedly caught leaving the scene of a burglary Wednesday afternoon. Police, responding to a house alarm at 755 North St. at 2:30 p.m., spotted Jonathan Whitcomb, 17, allegedly sneaking out of the home. He was quickly apprehended. According to Police Chief Tim Sheehan, officers also learned at the scene that Whitcomb was responsible for breaking into two vehicles at the Residence Inn on Andover Street. A search of  Whitcomb’s residence uncovered stolen property from those incidents, said police. Whitcomb, whose address is listed as being at the Residence Inn, 1755 Andover St., Apt. 1012, has been charged with breaking and entering into a dwelling, two counts of breaking and entering…
