Tewksbury Youth Soccer Roundup

Boys U9 Teams Clobber Westford

Boys U102 team edges Somerville, 3-2.

BU9-2 Tewksbury 5  Westford 1 The TYSL Boys U9-2 team won again to move to 3-0 on the season with a victory over visiting Westford. The team jumped out 1-0 in the opening minutes with a goal from Logan Teixeira, who later scored again. Justin Murphy got his first 2 goals of the season and Connor Moynihan got his first as well. For the 3rd straight game James Ministeri was solid in the net not allowing a goal. He was supported by another strong defensive effort from Cole Duffett, Owen Griffin, Lucas McFadyen, and Benny Svendsen. Mihir Bagul and Drew Timmons helped to control the offense, setting up their teammates and Drew played well in net in the 2nd half to secure the victory. Tewksbury Boys U10-2 Battle To Tie With Reading

Girls U10-5 takes down Wilmington.

(Editor's note: The following information was submitted by the Tewksbury Youth Soccer program.) Boys BU10-2 Tewksbury    1  Reading  1  Tewksbury BU10-2 hosted Reading’s BU10-2 playing to a 1 to 1 tie. Jack Kenneally scored the first goal of the year on a pass from Tyler Demers. The highlight of the first half was a great stop by goalie Greg Sencabaugh, who managed to block a high Reading shot and kept it out of the net. The defense of Sean Sears, Alec Strangmen, and Max Cumming was solid thought the game. The second half saw several good offensive shots by Chris Melo, Evan Zonderman, Alec Sokol, and Andrew Eringis but none of the shots made it to the back of the net. It was a great team effort by each player to keep the team in the game, …

Tewksbury U9 Girls Open Season With Three Big Wins

Team posts 3-0-1 record in Labor Day Tournament.

(Editor's note: The following information was submitted by the coaches of the Tewksbury Girls U9-1 soccer team.) The Tewksbury girls U9-1 soccer team played in the annual North Reading kickoff soccer tournament this past weekend. It was the first ever travel games the girls have played in. The Little Lady Redmen opened up against a much larger and older North Andover team and held their own on way to a 2-2 tie. Both goals scored by Alyssa Marchelletta. Game 2 produced our first victory with a 2-0 shutout of Stoneham. Scoring was Kaitlin Macdonald and Tess Barrett. Game 3 brought victory again with a 2=1 win over Framingham. Boys U14-1 Squad Wraps Up Pefect Spring by Crushing Woburn

Girls U10-4 team whips Westford.

Tewksbury BU10-1  Tewksbury 1 Somerville 2 Last game of the season with the Commissioners Cup in sight. Tewksbury played a terrific game, with Andrew Maresca scoring the only goal for Tewksbury.  Tremendous effortby all. Great season - Brandon Melo, Andrew Maresca, Chad Boschetti, RJ Florino, Riley Frost, Ryder Neadson, Mike Reppucci, Mike Dell'Orfano, Garrett Miskell, Kyle Braciska, Lucas Frost. Tewksbury - 2 Wilmington - 0 The Tewksbury Girls U12-1 travel team had a lot to play for this past Saturday when they meet up with rival Wilmington. The team was out to avenge their only loss of the season and also inch closer to clinching a spot in the Commissioner’s Cup. To say the team responded well to the challenge would be an understatement as the Redmen played their best overall game of the season. Tewksbury went on the attack early and often in this one. Rachel Prevost set the tone on offense early with a few good rushes to the net, including ringing one off the crossbar. One of those rushes led to a …

Tewksbury Girls Go 1-1-1 in Holiday Tournament

U14 teams join forces in New Hampshire.

(Editor's note: The following information was submitted by the coaches adn administration of the Tewksbury Youth Soccer program.) Memorial Day Weekend in New Hampshire The Tewksbury GU14-2 team (with some help from the GU14-1 & GU14-3) traveled north for the Holiday weekend to Amherst NH for a Memorial Day Tournament. Game #1 Saturday May 28th at 8:00 AM vs  Amherst New Hampshire SC The Tewksbury Girls looking festive in the red white and blue, complete with top hats took to the field against the host team to kick off the weekend.  In a clear indication of what the competition was like for the entire weekend the girls lost a tough 1-0 battle to the hosts.
