One More Blast! Forecasters Say 3-10 Inches of Snow For Tewksbury

Here's a check at what they're saying.

  National Weather Service - 3 to 5 inches tonight after midnight, 3 to 5 inches more later on Tuesday alternating between rain and snow. Wind around 10 mph, with gusts up to 30 mph. Weather Channel - 3 to 5 inches mixed between rain and wet snow late, highs near 40, winds up to 15-25 mph. 3 to 5 inches on Tuesday, sleet may mix in. Accuweather - About 2 inches of snow overnight, another 7 inches of heavy snow during the day on Tuesday, very windy.

Will Tewksbury Get Much Snow From This Storm?

A long-duration storm is knocking on the door, but most local meteorologists expect snowfall in the Merrimack Valley to be limited.

  The Merrimack Valley in for some wet weather Wednesday through Friday, according to local forecasts, but don't get out your snow shovels yet. For Boston, the local weather teams aren't predicting very much snow. Instead, expect a lot of rain and maybe some heavy slushy snow in spots. The Merrimack Valley, on the other hand, appears to be due for 3-5 inches of heavy wet snow. Flooding may become an issue in some areas, especially if it turns to rain. Here are the latest forecasts from the local television news weather teams. All totals were updated Wednesday morning. How Much Snow is Tewksbury Getting This Weekend?

Weather forecasters are predicting at least 10 inches of snow with a over a foot of snow possible.

Will Tewksbury get pummeled this weekend with more than a foot of snow or will it be a half-foot with rain mixed in? The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch from Saturday afternoon through Sunday afternoon. The NWS said 10 inches of snow or more is possible and warned of heavy wet snow that may fall at 1 to 2 inches per hour. Snow may mix with rain in the Tewksbury area. The NWS warned that the heavy wet snow could bring down tree limbs and result in scattered power outages. The various Boston news outlets are all estimating the Merrimack Valley to be in the area getting some of the heaviest snowfall, at anywhere from 6-14 inches. Blizzard of '13: When Is The Snow Going To End?

Here is a look at the latest forecast for Tewksbury from the National Weather Service.

Question: As Tewksbury residents wake up this morning to find their homes and cars buried under roughly two feet of snow, there is really only two questions on everyone's mind -- when is it going to stop snowing and how much more will we get? Answer: According to the National Weather Service, the worst of the snow will end by around 3 p.m. today (Feb. 9). But by then, Tewksbury will have received an extra 4-8 inches of snow, which could push the total for the storm over 30 inches. The heavy winds are expected to continue for most of the day, as well. Winds will be steady at 22-26 MPH, with gusts over 40 MPH. Tonight, a few more flurries are possible but the big issue will be the cold temperatures, which will dip into the mid-teens. The …

Blizzard Watch Issued for Tewksbury, More Than 2 Feet of Snow Possible

Storm is expected to strike Friday morning. Forecasts vary but snowfall totals could be historic.

Thirty-five years after the legendary Blizzard of '78 brought New England to its knees, another storm of possible historic proportions is preparing to descend on the region. The National Weather Service has issued a Blizzard Watch for Middlesex County and much of Massachusetts from Friday morning through Saturday afternoon.  According to NWS, much the state will be impacted by heavy snow with accumulation of 12 to 24 inches with the potential for blizzard conditions. The NWS previously forecast 14 to 18 inches in the Stoneham area. That total has been increased to 18 to 24 inches in the latest forecast. (See photo.) Roads Getting Slick, Forecast Worsens for Tewksbury

Storm is making a stronger push to the north and west.

What had been forecast to be a moderate winter storm for Tewksbury and the Merrimack Valley is beginning to pickup momentum and could wind up packing a pretty good wallop. The latest forecast from the National Weather Service is now calling for Tewksbury and the surrounding area to get 6-8 inches of snow. Snow is expected to continue through the night and a Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until Sunday at 7 a.m. Visibility on the roads is limited and fog is expected to roll in around midnight to 2 a.m. making it worse. The low temperature tonight will be around 26 degrees. There will also be steady North winds overnight from 10 to 13 mph.
