ReplyWhy must Obama always threaten us with cuts to important things? Why not cut foreign aid and/or excessive entitlements? Wouldn't that make the most sense?! If a family needs to make cuts they don't cut food and gas, they cut the extras like movies and lattes. I'm sick of his scare tactics!!!

ReplyLove this. Thanks for posting. The media has done a brilliant job brianwashing people into believing lies about Conservatives. When they have no argument against our rationale all they can do is shout 'racist' or 'woman-hater' (which couldn't be FURTHER from the truth!). It's quite pathetic and so old. Hoping people start to think for themselves instead of letting the news or pop culture dictate what they think or how they vote.

ReplyCongrats to the Caswell's! Why don't the police HELP the town and patrol the areas that are known for drugs? which also includes Walmart, Home Depot, Motel 6. If it becomes known among dealers that the cops are always around maybe the town will improve and drug dealing will go down.

On the article TELL US: What Should Tewksbury's Top Priorities Be In 2013?

ReplyRepair the roads (namely East Street and North Street) and add sidewalks. I'm sure there must be enough tax money after all the massive hikes. The rate is out of control! I just found out people call Tewksbury a rest stop town because it's unattractive. You'd think with such high taxes our Main Street/town center would be a lot nicer.

On the article 2013 Tax Rates by Municipality: How Does Tewksbury Compare?
Becca Bell

ReplyHere's a tax story for everyone...I bet the town spent a FORTUNE on this new automated garbage truck/uniform trash bins project. Well, the town issues me a small trash bin because I live in a townhouse (makes no sense right off the bat), Allied waste only takes one bag this week. I call them and they say it happens sometimes that all the bags don't come out of the bin (and of course the guys can't get out of the truck), then they suggest I pay $5 for the bag to be taken. I tell them I don't see how I should pay for their error. They refuse to waive the fee and say I should just buy another barrel (costs well over $100!). So, I'm left here wondering how I ever ended up in a town where I have to ration my trash or be forced to pay especially when the service isn't working right! Bottom line, did Tewksbury really need to spend a fortune to have matching trash cans during a recession???!!! And don't my taxes already go towards trash service anyway? Ugh, I'm powerless against big government. So disappointing!

Every time an article like comes up every one who posts on it is against all of these costly things that the town has done. My question then is how did these things pass? We need to come out even when its inconvenient and get involved and vote to save our homes and town. Otherwise all we'll have is a nice looking high school, police station and senior center in the middle of dilapidated homes that no one can afford to take care of or possibly even live in! And now Deval Patrick wants massive tax increases on top of what we already have! Who voted for him?? I guess the majority in MA are takers now? Because it's really hard to believe hard working tax payers would've voted for someone so hell bent on redistributing the "wealth" from the just-barely-making-it middle class and doing outrageous things like giving state tuition to illegal immigrants over our own kids!
