  • Of the listing Donna's Donuts

    *****

Oh my gosh, these are the yummiest doughnuts I've ever had! Shortly after moving to town I made an impulse stop at Donna's with one of my boys in tow. The deliciousness I brought home won me beaucoup Mommy/Wife points that day! We're all amazed by the apple fritter, it's so good! My husband and oldest tell me the Boston Creme is fantastic (not a fan, I avoid those), and the cinnamon glazed may be the most perfect doughnut ever.

I would love to go to Donna's again and again and again but my need to continue fitting into my clothes keeps me from returning too often, darn!

  • Of the listing Oscar's Pinata

    *

We renamed this place Oscar's Armpit after visiting. Walking in the front door the place smelled like mildew. Despite only two other tables being occupied, we waited 5 minutes to be seated. Service was equally slow and abysmal. There was food spattered on the wall our booth table was affixed. The food itself was nothing special. Last but not least I visited the restroom and it was filthy, trash on floor, mold in the caulk, absolutely disgusting.

We will not return. (This is also the only 1 star review I've written, the place was an utter disappointment.)

  • Of the listing Salon KARMA

    ****

Shortly after moving to town I received a "Welcome to the neighborhood" card from Salon Karma good for a free haircut. When my usual stylist elsewhere was on vacation and I was a shaggy beast, I redeemed it.

Kelly gave me a really good trim and listened to my plan for growth. A month later my hair has grown out just fine and it still looks good.

    Nice salon, good service!

Really wasn't anything special, don't really feel a need to return.

  • Of the listing The Push Cart

    *****

Pleasantly surprised by the Pushcart! In a decimated old strip mall it certainly didn't look like much but inside was a great salad bar, yummy soups, sandwiches, wraps, and froyo. I've been back a couple times now and the quality is consistently fresh and good!

  • Of the listing French's

    ****

Tasty and reasonably priced. Took the family out for lunch and after eating my haddock plate I read one of the soup flavors, steak bomb, aloud to my spouse and commented it sounded interesting. The man at the counter overheard and brought us a small cup with two spoons to try! Great service!

  • Of the listing Lisa's Pizzeria

    *****

Oh my gosh, pizza nirvana! Lisa's has great pizza and my family has developed a full-fledged addiction since we moved to Tewksbury. I love the thin yet flexible and tasty crust, the right amount of sauce, and perfectly cooked cheese. We're also big fans of the toppings, you mean I can get kalamata or green olives beyond the boring black olives most pie joints offer?! Fresh basil? Yes, please!

We've ventured into their boneless wings (yum!) and spaghetti and meatballs (seemingly yum, I've just stolen bites from my son's plate when he's ordered it).

Seriously, though, this is the best pizza I've tasted since living in the Merrimack Valley (2004 and four towns later).

  • Of the listing Jon Ryan's Pubs

    ****

We went to Jon Ryan's a little on the early side for dinner (we'd just come from my son's basketball game) and the place was pretty empty. During the course of our meal it filled up, as did we.

We ordered a little bit of everything off the menu ranging from soup, salad, sandwiches, dinner plates, and dessert. Everyone was pleased with the food, the portions were good, and service was friendly.

Our final bill seemed a little high but as mentioned we ordered a lot of food and multiple courses so I think that's why I had a little sticker shock.

    We'll be back.

  • Of the listing Airport Diner

    ****

After cruising Rt. 38 and looking at Vic's, the Pushcart, and the Airport Diner we decided to try the Airport diner. The kids loved the planes and photos of planes on the wall.

The portions were enormous, I think my beast of a husband managed to eat all his food but the preschooler didn't come close to finishing his kids' pancakes, the tween didn't come close to finishing his omelet, and I didn't come close to finishing my special.

Service was considerate and prompt (I'm annoying asking for coffee refills and hot sauce, but I do tip accordingly), the place was clean, the food was yummy. We'll be back!

  • Of the listing Wicked Cheesy Pizza

    ***

First pizza joint we tried in Tewksbury, November 2012, mostly because we loved its name and because of its north-side location.

We liked the cheese, it was definitely abundant, but the crust was tough and flavorless. My family was not impressed enough to return.
