Way to go staying on topic. What are your feelings on the Lindbergh baby kidnapping, Sacco and Vanzetti, and this seasons winner of dancing with the stars?

Most road maintenance expense is paid out of the general funds, not fuel and excise taxes directly. Thus, we all pay for roads via our income taxes. Also, most adult bicycle riders own a car, so are paying fuel and excise taxes anyway. Because bicycles are so light, they contribute very little to road wear and tear.
Bicycles are supposed to have lights when ridden at night. All bikes do have reflectors.
As far as the childish flipping off, I see it more coming from motorists, hiding inside their protective cars, or bloggers hiding behind their computers. -

Sandy,
I was in Cambridge today, Kendall Square area to be exact. Not ONE bicycle on the sidewalk. Plenty of bikes on the road, pretty much obeying the law. -

Cyclist dont ride sidewalks in droves, and you know it. The red light/stop sign issue is pretty much the only bicycle issue that motorists should have a consistent gripe over

Corey, if you 'tap these guys', there's a strong liklihood that they'll be seriously injured, or even die. I find your cavilier attitude disturbing at best.
Sharing a narrow road can be difficult. It seems that very few motorists like to do it either.
Try riding a bike on a busy street sometime. The experience will be eye opening. -

Ray, a couple of points: its illegal for bicyclists to ride their bikes on the sidewalk. Also, many studies have shown that rail trails do NOT attract crime. Rail trails DO increase property values in the area. A rail trail is considered a plus by many home buyers.
You mentioned sidewalks. Yes, we do need more sidewalks in Tewksbury....for PEDESTRIANS. -

ReplyId love to see a rail trail in Tewksbury. Any way we could see a map of the proposed trail?
As an aside to the bicycle haters, rail trails dont remove bicycles from streets, they just provide a recreational option. People will still ride their bikes on streets, as is their right.
