Lowell Man Arrested After Assaulting His Mother in Tewksbury, Stealing Her Car

The following information was provided by the Tewksbury Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

A Lowell man was arrested after assaulting his mother near the Stadium Plaza parking lot in Tewksbury, fleeing in her car and then striking a Lowell Police cruiser on Thorndike Street in Lowell Wednesday evening.

According to Tewksbury Police Chief Timothy Sheehan, Timothy J. Korajczyk, 22, of 260 Middlesex St, Apt. 31, Lowell was a passenger in a 2012 Toyota Prius owned and driven by his mother when the two got into an argument over his intoxicated state.

Korajczyk then assaulted his mother while she was driving and subsequently stole her car when she fled to avoid further injury near Clark Road by Stadium Plaza, according to Sheehan.

Tewksbury Police put a bulletin out for the stolen Prius, and Lowell Police were contacted directly, according to Sheehan.

According to a report from the Lowell Sun, Korajczyk then fled into Lowell and struck a Lowell Police cruiser on Thorndike Street at around 5:30 p.m.

Korajczyk was charged with domestic assault and battery and larceny of a motor vehicle, according to Sheehan.

No one was injured in the crash in Lowell, according to the Sun.
