10 Things To Do At Your Library This Week!

10 Things For Adults To Do At Tewksbury Library This Week

1.) On Monday, May 5 at 2pm, enjoy a screening of the recently released DVD – “Labor Day” – a PG-13 drama starring Kate Winslet and Josh Broslin.

2.) On Tuesday, May 6 at 7pm, enjoy “A Personal Organizer Tells All,” an inspiring hour of ideas and strategies to streamline your home and living, with Tatjana Nugteren, owner of “Live A Clutter-Free Life.”

3.) On Wednesday, May 7, 4:30pm-7pm, enjoy a trip to the Friends of the Tewksbury Public Library’s Friendly Little Bookshop, where all books are $0.50 to $1.25!  The shop is also open on Saturday, May 10, 10am-1pm.  All proceeds benefit the library.

4.) On Thursday, May 8, 10am-4pm, enjoy a 30-minute, one-on-one session with library staff to learn how to download free library eBooks to your Kindle, Nook, iPad or other eReader.

5.) On Thursday, May 8 at 7pm, enjoy “Best Practices in Dog Care,” a presentation from Dr. Kathleen Hanson, veterinarian and owner of the Burlington Animal Clinic, who will answer all your questions about caring for a dog.

6.) On Friday, May 9 at 8pm, enjoy a screening of the recently released DVD – “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug” – a PG-13 fantasy adventure starring Martin Freeman and Ian McKellan.

7.) On Saturday, May 10 at 2pm, enjoy “Explore The Meaning of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit,” a fascinating talk from author and professor Sean McDonough, who teaches a course on Tolkien at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton.

8.) Got a great photo of your dog?  Enter the library’s annual photography contest!  Entry forms are now available at the library’s front desk or online at www.tewksburypl.org.  Entries must be dropped off to the library on Tuesday, May 27 and Wednesday, May 28, 10am-8pm.  Reception will be held on Thursday, May 29 at 7pm. 

9.) It is not too late to join the library’s annual 50 Book Challenge!  If you read and log at least fifty books this year, you’ll be entered to win prizes from the library.  Track your progress using a paper log available at the library’s front desk or using an online log at www.tewksburypl.org.

10.) Bring the little ones in your life to some of the library’s wonderful upcoming children’s programs, including Tiny Tykes Story Time (0-18 months) on Monday, May 5 at 10:15am and 11am, and a Toddler Craft (2 year-olds) on Thursday, May 8 at 10:30am.
