Explore The Haunted History of New England

Event Information: All library events below are intended for adults.  Events are free, but registration is required.  Register by calling 978-640-4490 x 205, emailing rhayes@mvlc.org, or visiting the library’s online calendar of events at www.tewksburypl.org.  Events are generally held in the library’s first-floor Meeting Room.  Authors will generally sign and sell books after their talks to anyone interested.  All events are sponsored by the Friends of the Tewksbury Public Library.  Movie events are co-sponsored by the Tewksbury Lions Club.

Tuesday, August 20, 8pm -- Fright Night: Ghosts of Boston with Sam Baltrusis

Author Sam Baltrusis, tour guide with “Haunted Boston,” will discuss his new book – Ghosts of Boston: Haunts of the Hub.  Limited to 100 seats.  Register HERE.

Wednesday, August 21, 2pm -- Job Hunt Help: Networking from A to Z with Randall Warniers

Find out what's happening in Tewksburywith free, real-time updates from Patch.

Tuesday, August 27, 8pm -- Fright Night: Haunted History of New England with Chris Daley

Author Christopher Daley offers a multimedia presentation that melds historical fact together with legend and myth to produce an interesting and fascinating new look at events that really happened and the stories of haunting that followed them.  Topics include: the Cursed Freetown State Forest; the Haunted Hoosac Tunnel in Western Massachusetts; and the Ghosts of Lizzie Borden House.  Limited to 100 seats.  Register HERE.

Join this new monthly group dedicated to researching genealogy.  Each meeting will introduce a different resource and allow for time to research using library materials and databases.  Open to all skill levels.  No registration required.

Saturday, September 14, 2pm -- Author Visit: Is It Really Possible To Communicate With The Dead with Cheryl Amari

Grief Counselor and GriefTeach founder Cheryl Amari will answer the question: Can we actually communicate with our deceased loved ones?  Cheryl will distinguish between deathbed visions, near-death experiences, shared-death experiences, and after-death communication; explore the different types of after-death communication; investigate the role religious beliefs and traditions play in our acceptance of after-death communication; examine the popularity of mediums and psychics; and review the latest research in the field.  Limited to 50 seats.  Register HERE.

Ongoing: Grab a summer reading log from the library’s Front Desk.  For every book you read and record on your log, the Friends of the Library will donate $1 in your name to the library’s “Adopt-A-Book” Fund.  Return your log to the Front Desk by September 7.  Participants will be also invited to a reception at the library in late September.
