Tewksbury Athletics Director Brian Hickey Reportedly Expected to Make Full Recovery

The Tewksbury Town Crier's sources indicate that Hickey is on a path toward recovery.

Tewksbury Memorial High School athletics director Brian Hickey, who collapsed in April after suffering a heart attack, is expected to make a full recovery according to a newspaper report.

The Tewksbury Town Crier reported that Hickey, 58, has "improved immensely" according to its sources, and is expected to recover after the collapse.

Hickey, the school's athletics director since 2007, was walking away from a boys lacrosse game on April 28 when he collapsed.

Reports indicate that several people at the scene performed CPR, including football coach Brian Aylward, two Tewksbury residents and a Dracut parent who are medical professionals.

After the collapse, Hickey was transported first to Lowell General Hospital before being moved to Brigham and Women's Hopsital.

Several days after the incident, Hickey's health was upgraded from "serious" to "fair."
